I went to Robinson's last week and they had the parking lot closed off so that you can't turn left to the bike parking or the few car parking spaces right in front. Went back today and now they've also closed off the north exit. Complete cluster feck! On top of that there was not a single parking space anywhere! Not one!

Does anyone know if this is for security reasons or they just decided to make it hard?

Don't know for sure why. But, if you park before the cross walk to the bike park on the rear end, you can exit through the jeepney station there, and get out on the road towards Dumaguete. It's more convenient than the north exit anyway as you don't need to drive all the way up front to exit, and you by pass the traffic around the ceres terminal.
If you are going the main exit, you can try to park before the Go Hotel exit. Then you can exit there and take the access road from TeleTech going out to the south highway. Also faster and more convenient than the main exit.

Just talked to a friend and he said it's because some trike was stopped or somehow caused a fatality at the unofficial pedicab terminal .. you know, the one that says no loading/unloading. So the fix was to make it one way all around the mall and close the north exit. Brilliant! So now all the bikes are mixed in with the parking lot traffic. What could go wrong?

I am familiar with the exits you mentioned but was blind sided by the mess today. The main entrance is a nightmare now. And today there were NO parking spots anywhere in the lot. I wasn't big on the mall in the first place and now we just won't go.

I always considered that exit a disaster waiting to happen. Never liked going out of it. All the LTO guys have to do to bust those pedicab drivers is walk 20 steps and start writing tickets......but that would force them to get out of the shade so we know that will never happen.

That's part of the issue, law enforcement used for private means. Robinsons is a private business and sits on private property. As such LTO has no authority to write tickets for *parking violations* or whatever on private property. Now Robinsons could start instructing its security to disable any pedicab that parks there or causing them other annoyances but unless the infraction happened in the public domain its not LTO's job.

I find it ridiculous how many business's and churches use LTO and the local police as their workers when it suits them. Sunday you find LTO workers holding up traffic and guide parking vehicles into churches and you find the same for other major business's. You find police working as extra security for some of these big business's as well as if they can't afford to hire private security. A seriously big foot needs to come down to stop all that and force LTO and the Police to do their jobs and ONLY their jobs.

Very true but all that would do is give them more time in the shade:sneaky: Refresher Courses on Job Description/Work programme & Implementation may be useful if only to give them a chair to sit on when on a course.:whistling:

I smile but it is all so very silly, So Silly it is Stupid but...............When the LTO get a Useful Head, they Move them to other places because it upsets the Governor and others that he was doing his Job ( I refer to Roland Ramos) people may Remember that he was moved because he was Enforcing Implemented National Law
People say OH! but he was and *sshole Yes he was paid to be, That is what it is all about, you can't have it both ways which is something many are used to.

The pedicabs park outside of Robinsons on the road....that's not private property. The LTO has every right to write tickets to those pedicab drivers sitting on the side of the road (right under the "No loading/Unloading" sign). Now if Robinsons wanted to make space for them in their parking lot, then sure, the LTO could do nothing about it.
And some people say that Duterte's death squads are the only way to make change in the Philippines....that's a load of crap. If they really wanted to make changes they need a better trained police force and military......Duterte is too chicken sh*t to tackle that issue. His death squads are a temporary band aid at best. A bit off topic though.

Maybe misunderstood where the issue is going on about. I was assuming it was the Robinson's parking lot in question because I still see plenty of pedicabs along every part of the road they used to be. I see them still outside the exit to the road that goes right and down to Mcdonalds and the park. I still see them in that pedicab stand next to the highway. What I did see for a short bit is them trying to drive off the pedicabs who enter the parking lot where there is a sign on no loading and the pedicabs just ignore them. That place is however private property of Robinson's and LTO doesn't have jurisdiction for writing tickets their.

In other news Robinson's got enough complaints apparently and now allow motorcycles only to turn left to get to the motorcycle parking area. No more need to go all the way around.
