At least I'm trying to. The site might go down for awhile while I restart some services. Hopefully this gets rid of some of the problems that people are having while visiting the site on mobile.
I just did. I have a feeling I know what the problem is: I need a new (and not as cheap as I currently have) SSL cert that is recognized by Apple and Android browsers. It'll take me a day or two to order the certification and get the file back I need. I've already fixed the biggest problem (if the site went down it was only for a couple seconds) but I'm still having no luck with the mobile security warnings. It should just be a copy and paste ordeal once I get the proper certs.
@DavyL200 Could you to try to open the forum from your iphone/Apple device? (I think I remember you saying you were getting those security warnings as well). I have two Androids opening the site without any security warnings popping up and I have the green padlock in the address bar, you should see the same. If there is anyone else out there using mobile phones (or old PC browsers) I'd appreciate any input.
On what type of device and browser? Were you getting security warnings before? I've never had problems with any browser on my laptops, as far as I knew it was only the mobile browsers that had an issue with the certificate. (Turns out, at least for Android, it wasn't the certification but the Mail-based SNI SSL that was screwing with the browsers. Maybe @TheDude has a clue why that would cause a problem....I just know that some of the older browsers have a problem dealing with it.....and I know it killed the DI RSS feeds as well.) I never really Counted in the Past but last couple of weeks if I went on the Daughters Apple with Firefox it was sometimes iffy but today it seems OK. never had a Prob on the laptop or the Desk top. Jack
Hi to All, I find the issue for me is as simple as "SSL certificate handshake" on a very slow connection (time-out prior to verification) ... Here and other sites concurrently. Generally I have similar "security handshake / exchange" issues with VPN connection at the same times. Now the question is off course - it sometimes is my connection --- BUT I have found connecting to DI slow even on good days (not having a b*tch ok ???). Think of where DI is situated ?? If there is a slow connection TO the server (on my end) and a a slow response FROM the server - the problem might be an easy fix. OR NOT. My 2 cents worth.
