    Hello everyone,
    i checked this forum some time ago, and now registered to keep reading and also write some if neccesary.

    Im from Spain, traveled 1 year over South-East Asia and choosed Dumaguete to live0. 2 months here already. Also trying to open a business, but is quite difficult to find a good commercial space...

    Anyway, thanks all for this active forum :smile:

    Welcome and best of luck with moving here and starting a business. You may want to talk to some of the others here who have experience with owning/running businesses here in Dumaguete. It can be tricky and expensive if you are unprepared/under-prepared for all the twists and turns of doing business in the PI.

    You're on your own with who you thrust with. :wink:

    I'm the wrong guy to talk to if you want to start a business. I always advise against it. My thought is if I buy something, it goes under my name.....no exceptions. So I'll never own a business here. It's something you should have figured out before even thinking about leasing a place.

    Well, i agree with you, but looks like i have no option. I want to live here but im not going to lie under a palm tree for the rest of my life, and money will finish eventually since im not retired and i have no pension from my country. So i need to work.

    I completely understand but rushing into business here is a quick way to blow through your money or have your business stolen from you from an untrustworthy "partner". There are people here who have made it work....but I'm sure most have plenty of failures under their belt before they had a success.
