I had to do a Google search to find the meaning of "Mendicant" In all my years, I have never heard that term used before ... I sure don't think it is widely used in American English.
They have been doing this for years now and always around this time,so it's roundup time again,put them on a boat back to Zamboanga so they can come right back on the next boat!
I read it without the "n" and almost made an idiotic post. First I've heard of the word as well. Wiki says: I then had to look up "asceticism". Doesn't look like a very appealing religion. At least it is a more interesting read than an article about city hall saying they are going to get rid of some beggars. I'll believe that when I see it.
Another new word to add to our vocabulary. I wonder who started this "religion". The word is a form of menace. asceticism is practicing self denial for spiritual reasons.
What they need to do is get rid of the drunken, junkie, derelict foreigners that are invading the town. I quit having breakfast at the Why Not because of them showing up hung over, smelling like puke and constantly clearing their throats of phlegm... yuck.. its a restaurant you idiots.. don't gag and puke in front of people dining.. in fact, i limit my trips to dumaguete now.. it has a familiar odor.. like rats drawn to the sewage..
I am not sure if this guy was a beggar as some people claim. But one block from my place a guy was murdered in broad daylight. In between Gangs and Freedom Park. Right in front of the barber shop I go to. This happened yesterday.
It's also a disco. At least you don't have to worry about me showing up hung over and ruining your breakfast, I don't get out of bed until after lunch.
