MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has announced it will be implementing a list of consolidated rules for deportation proceedings this coming Nov. 9th, 2015. Based on the new rules, a ‘regular’ deportation case shall be resolved in 60-days, on average. Atty. Elaine Tan, BI spokesperson, said the new rules are contained in Memorandum Circular No. SBM-2015-010 and will be implemented after it was published on October 24th. Officials said that while the rules are not exactly new to the bureau, they say that the system has been ‘regularly observed.’ The Omnibus Rules of Procedure of 2015 now have “specific” time frames for every office to process each step in the deportation proceedings. Hmmmmmmmm Well in all my years here I have Never known anyone I know ever Deported. I take this with a pinch of salt, They could not even get the man with the Dog Deported even though he was Persona non grata. Until they get the Judicial act together, to me it is all Hot Air and Certainly, Talk with no teeth. 60days Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Let's hope they follow through with the memorandum. Words are cheap when it comes to the government though....I'll believe it when I see it. (Hopefully that won't be a first hand experience though. )

"Persona non grata" holds absolutely no legal weight when it comes to tourists and expats. If you are a diplomat then you are going to have some problems but coming from the barangay/municipality/city/province level still holds absolutely no weight there. It must come from the federal/national level to keep a diplomat out of the Philippines....and they better have d*mn good reason for declaring a diplomat "persona non grata" or they are going to have some serious issues with whatever country that diplomat is from. They can say you aren't welcome all they like but if you haven't broken any laws the chances of you getting deported are very slim (though not impossible). Not sure who you are referring to here but extradition is a complicated process and takes time, it is not a normal deportation. Also, if he broke the law here he will need to face those charges (and prison time) before he can be deported/extradited.
A UK guy called Slade that has so many warrants out in the UK the PI just said you can have him, there are apparently No charges Pending in the PI as he bought his way out But he is still here.
Of That I am sure, but to keep it in context I wonder what a Normal Deportation is? That they can do in 60 days and yet the NSO (Now (PSO) say 5 days to turn a normal thing out but 10 days for Complicated. ( their Website Promise.) My Wife has waited since Early May for an amendment to her B/C for Immigration purposes. (Mine) Any time scale this Administration gives is just C.....p as I say I will not be Holding my Breath. Jack
