    ILOILO CITY, Philippines – An Australian national and his Filipina wife were arrested for human trafficking on Friday.

    60-year-old Erwin Welhelm Gunther Matha and 37-year-old Waryn Leguin were arrested at their home in Florvel Subdivision in the region of Oton, Iloilo.

    Police say the two are being charged after a complaint was filed by the local police’s Children and Women’s Desk – both suspects have already been charged with violating Republic Act #10364 (the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act).

    The original complaint was filed by two ex-girlfriends of the Australian national – the complaint is said to contain a total of four individuals involved.
