WOW! Looks like it may be a total loss. Lots of vendors out of work and loss of merchandise also. I just hope no one was injured or worse.

Wow, I bet that could happen really easy in the Dumaguete market as well. Dense area with lots of flammable stuff.

I wonder what happened. Aren't all these vendors required to carry fire extinguishers like any other business?

Not implying anything, but make sure you secure your doors and windows leading up to Christmas.

You would think that all fire hydrants and hoses would be the same size. I hope Chief Inspector Arnulfo Sayson, fire chief of Negros Oriental looks into this.

Mission admitted they had problems with the water hydrant because of the different sizes of fire hoses of firetrucks from Dumaguete, Filipino Chinese, and the Pamela firetruck, except for those from Dauin, Zamboanga and Valencia. He said Engine No. 5 of the Dumaguete Fire Station had to go back to Dumaguete to refill water from the overhead tank at the public market in the city.

Very unfortunate indeed. Hope for a quick recovery and turn around for the vendors and other lost buildings.
