I have a German here who I found sleeping on the side of the road. He appears to be confused about his surroundings and I can't communicate with him well. From him dress and other clues, he is not a typical homeless case. I feel like he may have some sort of temporary episode, perhaps even a medical issue which may need immediate treatment.

Please, if someone can come to the police station and talk to this person, I would be greatful.

My number is 09154720821. I brought him to the police station because I didn't know what else to do. I feel like I have done everything I can, so I may not be here much longer. My phone is also nearly out of battery. I may not be able to text back. Just hoping someone catches on with this quickly.

Sorry, I don't speak any German. (Curious how the guy could be even remotely functional in the Philippines without speaking any English. Perhaps he had a bit too much of the jungle juice tonight?) You did what you could by taking him to the police station, let him sober up there for the night and if you're still concerned tomorrow go back to see if the guy's English vocabulary has improved any.

It's not an issue with drinking. He is probably 70+ and appears sober. He is dressed well, has money and cards (no ID that I could see) on him and otherwise appears to be a normal tourist.

Maybe he got away from family at his home, but I was also thinking about a possibility of a stroke or other issue.

Anyways, I can't stay awake any longer and I have my own family to attend to. I'm going to leave him to the police.

That sucks but probably the best thing you can do for him this early in the morning without fronting some cash you might never get back by taking him to a hospital to have him looked over.

has anyone there got goggle translate on their phones? I'm not sure how accurate it is but that may be an option.

Surely there must be a German speaking member on this site.

I ended up having to leave him at the police station. The sun was coming up and I had my own household to attend to. He fell asleep, but that was a safe place to get some rest. He probably would have gotten robbed sleeping on the side of the road. Hopefully he was in better shape when he woke up. Unfortunately, I don't know what happened.

I know we do Have a couple but I am reliable informed that there are members of the tourist Police Unit that also have German speakers, it is a requirement that some speak an additional language. Maybe not a conversation type but certainly Name rank and Number.
Also I would think the BI could help out here, makes you wonder what the Police do apart from Scratch their N...ts? Clearly not thinking of sorting a few things out.

If the guy was sleeping on the side of the road it's unlikely that he could afford to renew his visas. The only thing immigration would "help" with would be getting him locked up at the foreigner jail in Manila.....and I might prefer sleeping on the side of the road over being there.
