While searching online for a Hash House Harrier group in Dumaguete I keep being directed to this forum. The only problem is the last posts I can find is from 2009. Does this group still exist? If not, what happened and would there be any interest in re-establishing another Hash?

Larry was the leader and is too busy (he told me) to revitalize it but there is some interest hare . . er I mean here. Unfortunately I don't drink like I used to but I would be interested in being one of the hashers if there was a good GM stepping up to the plate.

That sounds awesome! Though I can't even run up a flight of stairs without dying....but I can certainly drink! God Love my Scottish/Irish/Cape Breton mix!

I would just like to revive this thread because the Dumaguete Hash House Harriers is having a run this Saturday, Jan 2. For more info contact Larry (Shadow). Are there any former hashers in the group who want to get back into it? Its been a while since Dumaguete Hash had a run so turnout to this one will go a long way to deciding when the next one will be.

There is a Dumaguete Hash Yahoo group with more info but I don't know the rules for posting links so just ask Mr Google.

You do not have to run to be a Hasher....you can walk and I am sure you can use any kind of transportation if you really need it? There are lots of places in Banilad and in the city. But they are widespread. Correct me if I am wrong!

My first question is: What in the world are Hash House Harriers?

My next question would be: How does drinking and running/walking mix?

To answer both questions, the Hash House Harriers are a world wide organization of drinkers with a running problem. Best to google it for more in depth research as trying to explain it would make all the hashers sound looney (hmm maybe we are).

About the Jan 2nd run. As was stated by Canadianized, you don't have to run, you can walk, but I am not sure if this run is open to new members so I post this here for existing members of HHH anywhere in the world who are currently in Dumaguete. The only reason I can think of that it may not be open to new members (and I could be wrong on that so better ask Larry if you are interested), is because this is the first run in a long time and it may be a bit disorganized :-) But it would surely be nice to get a good turnout.

What often happens is that the HHH make arrangements with the certain bars to accommodate them especially with reduced rates on beer. I have went on one of their runs in Angeles City as a guest. I never completed the run and ended up staying at one bar. They are a great bunch of people. They would also rent a few vans and load everyone up to visit places outside of Angeles City.
