Valentines day is approaching!

Probably means more to Our ladies I am sure But was just sat wondering what we all may do on the 14th. Me? I am just Told we are going out What about you Guys and Gals? Mines a surprise she Said so maybe I will tell after cos I can't comment before, not even on my own Thread

 

I'll stay at home. As all Valentines we always have open party and bands playing. So, no surprise ;-)

 

Since you started the subject. Does anyone know where to buy some decent roses? The ones on the street are not really the romantic kind lol

 

The fun of Valentines day. Hers is always a surprise. His, which happens after they get back home from dinner is never a surprise.

 

I do almost nothing on the 14th, but the 13th is different I hate going out on Valentines day, fighting the crowd, getting mediocre food because the kitchen is overbooked, and the chief and waitresses all want to be out doing their own "valentine thing", the roses are wilted since they have been setting around for most likely at least one extra day. I celebrate Valentines day on 13th, the flower are fresher, and venues less crowded and everything works well usually. If it does not work out good... then you always have a second chance on the real Valentines days to hit a homerun, maybe even using a pinch hitter if the 13th really worked out super badly... lol.
(This is almost a holiday date change tradition for me. It started when my daughter came to the US for Thanksgiving from Australia. She screwed up and booked the wrong dates, leaving a few days before Thanksgiving. So we ended up celebrating Thanksgiving the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It was the best and most memorable Thanksgiving of my life. No stress either. No one was hurt preparing the meal or fighting for the last punkin pie, or can of cranberry sauce in the market, everything was available. In fact the market was even open and uncrowded when we had to make the last emergency run on "our" Thanksgiving. There were over 20 guests, representing three generations. No no one declined to come, since there were not other family obligations for the day. Since that Thanksgiving, I have never worried too much about date of a holiday.... I mean if Washington and Lincoln can change their birthdays every year so we get 3 day holidays then I certainly can modify a few dates for my personal benefit too. )
So p*ss on the 14th, stay at home and watch the election news, that will screw up you mind, bring home a little extra dessert treat or gift and your mind may not be the only things that gets screwed on the 14th.
