    I fully agree.. I have tried to'mention' to the waitresses,that I am the customer, and that their tip is not automatic/guaranteed. If I do not get what I am paying for,( usually a higher price because its a "foreigner' type resto) I do NOT leave a tip. Sometimes I will tell the waitress or if there is a manager, why.

    I have never truly figured out the waitress tip system here. I have never been told a standard percentage as I am familiar with the US. Consequently my tip almost totally reflects my satisfaction with the service going from zero to 20%. Anyone has more information on this or other philosophies of tipping please post.

    I have been told that Filipinos do not trip. That may be why here the service people do not work a little extra for tips. Any insight on the topic is welcome.

    This could be started as separate thread, as it does not solely reflect on Happy Jacks.

    Went there today after immigration and had the Union Jack Burger and fries. Excellent burger. My only complaint is that the burger should come with a half order of fries (raise the price a bit of needed). I really struggle to eat a burger and a full order of fries.

    The girls were smiling and friendly and making sure my glass didn't go dry. I feel bad for the guys that aren't as gwapo as me. Service is great for those of us with all the looks. Mom always said, "life's not fair", guess she was right. :sneaky:

    Why can't they just do there jobs the right way.

    A little unfair I thought, based on the owners comments that he is dealing with the bad write up he had from a poster.

    As with most things here, Your own mileage may vary " How can you knock it, if you ain't tried it"? :wink:

    Many do, of course everywhere gets a hiccup or two, we are none of us perfect.
    Take a visit and then make a Comment, Over critical critics sometimes can not see beyond the own Ego :facepalm:

    I agree I have never had a problem with service there. The staff were always friendly and gave me good service. Was there again today to see the last game of the pool tournament and had same excellent service. Maybe it's the person's attitude. I am always smiling and polite and the staff responds in kind. But, I am not Gwapo, I am old overweight and bald. Go figure!
