This July 20, 2011 file photo, captured through the window of a closed aircraft, shows an aerial view of Pag-asa Island, part of the disputed Spratly group of islands, in the South China Sea located off the coast of western Philippines. AP File Photo/Pool WASHINGTON, United States—China has deployed a surface-to-air missile system on one of its contested islands in the South China Sea, a report said Tuesday just as President Barack Obama called for “tangible steps” to reduce tensions in the region.
Well, at least we know the surface-to-air missiles certainly aren't for the Philippine Air Force......and their trainer jets. One problem the Chinese would face if they actually started anything would be that islands tend to have fixed addresses. Whatever troops/weapons/structures they put there wouldn't be around for very long. I think the ties between the US and the Philippines are going to stay strong for the foreseeable future.
ummmm as opposed to one of those fancy convertible aircraft??? Stewardess "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Captain has turned on the seatbelt sign, please remain seated and buckled while he lowers the roof."
Well, it is the South China Sea and China does as pleases. Hussein wont do a jot. We have to wait for Trump and the last WW
Don't forget the casino that goes with a Trump Tower. And of course, Trump will build the hotel and China will pay for it....
Obama doesn't have the balls to do anything to China or take them on in any way and China knows it. If we had a stronger military President China would likely have backed down sometime ago doing less then half of what they have done.
