One of the things to consider about scooters, as we age, is whether both the brakes are hand applied (levers on the hand grips as opposed to foot applied brakes).

I find, as I age, that my hands get a bit weaker and more arthritic than my feet do. Thus I can stop very well with one hand brake and one foot brake but when using a scooter with 2 hand applied brakes it takes a bit longer to stop. That is vital here and I wonder if other people think about that.

Then there are the smokers and cell phone chatters. How do they apply both brakes when smoking or chatting? Its a mystery to me.

They don't, that's what the over-run lane (sidewalk) is for.

They sell a 650cc scooter in Dumaguete. There is a dealership just south of Jollibee North. I think it is around the same price. Korean brand?
Honda Waves have a foot brake that is much stronger than the hand brake.
I don't need a cell phone or cigarette in my hand to utilize the "over-run lane". With such crappy infrastructure here you have to use what's available to you.

Funny you should say this though, as it is my feet that are my Problem so this is for me as I Don't need my feet for gears and Braking  :whistling:

Kymco? Yes had one in Spain but the Burgman far exceeds the specs for the Similar Price. Plus there is a hand Operated Parking Brake for on slope Parking as is often the Case at times. But Thanks for the Post. Anyway 3 months will soon pass as I have been without my own transport for 3+ years now. I miss the centre of Gravity sadly Missing on the Kawasaki we have just now + it is old and I am not sure I am too safe on it.

So this is a Boon to the phone user that I will not tell them at all so please keep it to yourselves. The Right hand Lever (Front Brake) on the Burgman is duel in that it also operates the rear brake a fraction in time after the Front at a much Lower level to avoid lock up
Then Brake with the left lever for full level rear Wheel Braking.

Just a 10c worth of trivia that can be important.
