Yesterday we had another great meal in mooon cafe at Robinsons and would recommend it, we have not tried the one at the boulevard so can't comment on it yet.
The food, staff and value for money are all good the only problem sometimes is getting a table as it is very popular. :cigar:

I have tried both and my rating on both would be 'right in the middle'. Both good enough that I would go back there any time, but would be careful what I ordered as not everything suits my taste. Price and service both fair for what you get.
    I agree.

I would recommend the steak or the pizza for western palates. The Mexican inspired food is totally ruined with Filipino inspired sauces and seasonings and their version of 'sour cream'

What did you order there? Every time I've ate there the food is either absolutely disgusting (anything claiming to be Mexican "inspired") or acceptable with tiny portions. It's been years since I've ate there though.

They seemed to never have what was on the menue. I took a couple of friends to lunch and my first two choices were no stock sir so I finally decided I would have something they couldn't screw up and said I would have the pork barbecue. The waitress left and came back 10 minutes later and said, No stock sir. I started to tell them to send a runner to Mang Inasal but I decided I didn't want to eat there after all. I wish they hadn't already brought my coke too but I just sat there and nursed my coke while my friends ate. My friends were embarrassed because they had suggested the place. I can safely recommend the coke. I agree with Wrye's assessment of the food I saw and smelled.

I tend to like the Jalepeno Diable Pizza and the Moon Steak. The onion rings are also fairly good as well. I would call the decor more *Mexican* inspired then the food though. There fajita's aren't that bad as well but most of their dishes are just not worth it. I can shovel the rest down if I just need to eat but not much else I would recommend besides maybe the garlic mushrooms.

Maybe i am just lucky or easily pleased but i have never experienced a bad meal there, yesterday i had fish tinola which was good and came in a huge bowl big enough for 2, i quite often have a steak but you are right about the portions so i always have a side order of onion rings, my wife likes the Monte cristo sandwich which is made with bacon and egg, she can never finish it so whats left goes home in a doggie bag.
Regarding the Mexican food, i quite often have it but i am not an expert so i think its ok.
I can remember some time ago there was a guy from the US sat quite near us so i could not help but hear him when he told the waitress his Mexican meal was nothing like he gets at home as he lives close to the border with Mexico so as i am quite there are no Mexicans being hired here i don't suppose he went back.

Maybe the Fajitas would have been ok, I don't know as they were out of stock. They need to put a hamburger on the menu so that there is something to fall back on for all the items out of stock at least there would be a familiar fallback option. One of my friends had the onion rings which it looked like they brought 1,000 Island dressing for. They were soggy like they were underdone.

Honestly I got sick of most restaurants having a fallback *burger* as so often your just unsure to try something new so it went to burger burger burger. But then I'm also the guy who would press my company to try something different instead of always the same exact Filipino fallback dish every place had.

The Onion Rings would always be crisp for me and fresh but if you go takeout they go soft real fast. You also have to ask specifically for tomato ketchup which they will then bring but often takes a few extra minutes to come up with. I always say I want tomato ketchup when order and have them check to make sure available. Yet still often they would forget and bring some garbage dip, then ask and they bring banana ketchup, ask again specifying they look for the keyword *tomato* on the bottle and bring me the tomato ketchup which I would finally get a LOT of.

I find it helpful to have someone specifically recommend a plate at restaurant, as many times I find not all dishes are good. Thanks...If I get a bad one the first time, it is just like blindly selecting a lady at the Why Not disco, If the dish is not good, or what you expected, then I will not continue the relationship.
