Who knows this fish

    Some kind of fish.jpg
    No apparent fins or tail or gills, just eyes and a mouth and spikes. This one and his buddy washed up dead on the beach and I have never seen on of these before

    It's a puffer fish,sometimes the fishermen catch them and you can't do anything with them,they are a nuciance when fishing with rod and line as they just bite off the bait and hook!

    My grandmother had one that I think they kept inflated while it dried out. They would make great tourist souvenirs.

    Just packing the d*mn thing would be a nightmare! That doesn't change the fact that a tourist would probably buy one.:biggrin: Dried out and sprayed with laquer it looks no more edible than a tumbleweed or a starfish for that matter.

    It's highly poisonous to eat Dave. In Japan you need a special licence to prepare it.
