    Marriage Visa (13A) - Philippines

    This immigrant visa is for the spouse or unmarried child (below 21) of a Filipino citizen.

    To apply for this visa you will need to do the following:

    1. Download and print the CGAF. (Attached to this thread or you can download it from the official BI Website.)

    2. Submit the documents for pre-screening to the Central Receiving Unit (CRU) or to the frontline officer or staff of other Immigration Offices able to process this transaction.

    3. Get the Order of Payment Slip (OPS).

    4. Pay the required fees.

    5. Submit copy of Official Receipt.

    6. Attend hearing. Please refer to the Official Receipt for the schedule and venue of the hearing and Image and Fingerprint Capturing.

    7. Proceed to Image and Fingerprint Capturing Counter of the Alien Registration Division (ARD) and submit requirements for ACR I-Card application

    8. Check website if visa application is already approved.

    9. If approved, submit passport for visa implementation.

    10. If ACR I-Card is approved, claim ACR I-Card.
    (Note that these instructions are for doing this in the Manila Main Office and

    Cost: P8,620.00 + $50 (USD) for ACR I-Card

    Note: This is the process for the initial 1 year "probationary" period of this visa. Once the one year probationary status is up you will be required to file an amendment to gain a permanent status. You can find the checklist for the amendment here. The application forms are the same.

    There is a lot of information and user experience on the forum with this visa. Hopefully if anything here is not correct someone will post corrections or updates. Applying seems pretty straight forward though and this thread is not about annual reporting requirements.

    Strange as I replied to this last time but it did not load?:o o:

    The forms have changed, I downloaded Forms via the above link as well as the Immigration page, one set had space for a foreign address so I filled those in, had them notarized by the attorney (300P per set - 3x sets) and handed them in, only to discover it was the set minus the foreign address I had to fill in, so back to the agency beside the Immigration Office here in Dumaguete, only to discover a few days later; that the day I handed in the second set of forms, Philippines Immigration had changed them yet again! This time it was one number (Rev.0 to Rev.1 from memory still minus the foreign address section)

    All up, to 'trial' lodge my forms, pay the Agency as well as the agent in Cebu who handled my lodgement, pay for a return flight for two from Dumaguete to Cebu and back, a Hotel Room for Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning, set me back roughly 32,000 pesos give or take, that also included extending my Visa for two months whilst the agent held my Passport and ACR Card.

    I need to go back in 10 months to convert the Probationary 13a to Permanent, so will keep you guys posted, all went smooth excepting Immigration who messaged me Saturday Night to tell me they had rescheduled my Appointment to 30 minutes past my departure time at the airport Tuesday morning! :jawdrop: Some furious texting quickly saw my original Appointment time reinstated! :wink:

    All in all, it was an easy process using the Agency beside Immigration, but strangely, despite what Immigration requests, the Agent told me I never needed to take the Medical and at the interview (& the interviewing Officer was very pleasant I may add) none of my Medical results were asked for which peeved me somewhat as I did a lot of running around spending unnecessarily to get those done... :thumbsdown:

    I am so glad i did mine years ago!!! This last january 15 i renewed my ACR card as the 5 years expiry was upon me, i was in and out of manila immigration within 2 hours after first doing my annual report and then all paperwork needed for the i card renewal,, Considering the mayhem at the manila office on the 6th of jan last year IE the first day of opening after the holidays i was lucky as a pig in the playground :smile:

    my advice to anyone who has the time is take the trip and do your paperwork in manila as you will get it all done there in a timely fashion,,,, but there again if you have plenty of time you can always just wait in duma for it....

    G'Day mate are you talking about the 13a or the ACR Card?

    I did my ACR at Dumaguete, yes I waited for the issuance of my ACR Card, but it was a very easy process to do at the Dumaguete Office...

    For the 13a it can be done at Manila or Cebu but not in Dumaguete hence why I went to Cebu to do my application, hopefully I should know in the next week or so *fingers crossed* :smile:

    I was talking about doing my annual report along with my 5 year renewal of my icard.....

    how time flys hey,

    I heard that the BI is making it mandatory that the foreigner must have a minimum amount of money in the bank and prove it to apply for the 13A because a lot of expects coming here and getting married but not being able to support the family


    Which I find ironic since 90 percent of the Filipinos have 10 bijillion Children and can't afford.

    But always another set if rules for expats.

    Is this true or just a myth?

    I think it is a myth mate, strange here as they also insist you have a barrage of medical tests done, yet I was not asked for a single copy of any ofmy medical tests and the Agent told me I did not need to take any tests despite it saying otherwise on the Philippines Government Web Page... I have read online you NEED to show you have money in the Bank, but all I did was show that my Pension is paid Monthly into my Philippines Bank Account here, regular Payments which show I do have a premanent Income, which I think all they really require unless maybe if you are a self funded retiree?

    I am using the Travel Agency next door to the Dummaguete Immigration Office amd found out today my application has been now approved, so around September I will go back to Cebu to change from 'probationary' to permanent, all has been very smooth and a pleasant experience using the Travel Agency's Agent, THANK GOD I do not have to go back to the Dumaguete Immigration Office and deal with 'Ol Sour Puss' sitting at the front counter! :D hehe

    But WARNING! The Agent told methis morning that since lodging my application there has been THREE MORE Changes to the necessary Forms! Apparently each time there is a change in 'Officer in Charge' within Immigration they change the Forms in some small way, so using the online download links may prove to incorrect Forms needed to lodge your application...
    Just a word of warning to you guys...

    Not sure what is going on here but a triple post has now seen mu original Post disappear :/

    Recently paid 300 pesos to send my old ACR Card and Passport to Cebu, picked up my new ACR Card and Passport today, things are going very smoothly using the Agency beside the Immigration Office, more so than if I had tried to do things myself I am sure with the Form changes along the way.

    I Have been told I will have to go back to Cebu sometime between September and February depending when Immigration sets my appointment to convert my Probationary 13a to Permanent.

    keep everyone posted if things go smoothly as they are so far *touch wood* or if things go Turkey up if Immigration change the game play between now and then :wink:

    Just recently paid 300 Pesos to the Travel Agency/Agent to send my Passport and old ACR Card and picked up my New ACR Card today along with my Passport, now just need to wait to hear back regards my next appointment to convert my Probationary 13a to Permanent sometime between this coming September to February, a lil confusing as no one knows for sure exactly when I need to go back to Cebu, but all seems to be going very smoothly using the Agent compared to doing it myself as I am sure that would have been a disaster with the several Form changes experienced along the way... Will keep all posted on my progress and if any problems arise so as to warn you guys... :smile:

    Quick question if I may. All in how much has it cost to date and how much do you expoect it to cost when it is all finished (your 13a)
