Mr. President, please send a squad to Bacong to catch the turd who robbed my house. Please torture him first to tell where my stuff is before you kill him. Salamat.

The Philippines hasn't been turning a complete blind eye on drugs. The NBI has maintained a list of suspected drug pushers/dealers/dens/people of interest for a long time. I know at times it does seem like the wild west here and they are not very proactive but all those drug raids/buy-bust operations that have been in the newspapers ever since I got to the Philippines weren't the NBI/PNP going around and getting lucky and stumbled across these dealers/drug dens.....they had very specific targets in mind.

The point being; you can't just shoot someone, drop some drugs on a person (which you likely had to get from someone/someplace the NBI might have on a list and is actively watching....putting YOU at risk of getting on a list that might not look so good in an investigation where you claimed to shoot a drug dealer) and think the police are going to buy your story about you doing society a favor. And honestly, it would just be a waste of money buying the drugs....if you want to kill someone just throw on a helmet (a t-shirt around your head works all the same), hop on a scooter without any plates, find the person, shoot them.....then drive away. More likely to get away with it that way than sticking around and waiting for the cops to show up and arrest you, regardless if they believed you or not. And even if you were found innocent in court how many steps do you think you would make it out of the court room before they family took justice into their own hands? If they paid for a lawyer and to file a case against you chances are they really want you to pay for it. (Not like people go around shooting random strangers for sport, there's usually a little bit of history that leads up to such things.)

    As for the story......
So he is asking law abiding citizens to run towards police that are actively dealing with potentially armed and dangerous drug dealers. I wonder how that could possibly go bad:
    • Police getting shot at by drug dealer in dirty shorts and flip-flops from the front.
    • Police return fire.
    • Mr. Juan dela Cruz, also wearing dirty shorts and flip-flops, comes running to assist popping off shots at the drug dealers from his pea-shooter from another direction.
    • Police think Mr. Juan dela Cruz is the dealer's back-up trying to flank them.
    • Police shoot Mr. Juan dela Cruz.
    • Drug dealer has time to run away while police focus on the idiot they think is flanking them.
    • Operation a bust, innocent (but stupid) citizen dead, drug dealer gets away.
You don't want ununiformed citizens jumping into gun battles between the police and gangs.
Why would a citizen have to do that if the police are already there? Are they not trained to deal with someone resisting arrest? If I were a cop the last thing I would want when trying to detain a suspected drug dealer in a rough neighborhood would be for more people I don't know to be gathering around with guns and watching every move being made. Major distraction for the police and puts them in more danger than they already are in these types of situations.

Or maybe with the "refuses to be brought to a police station" part he is asking citizens to bring in people they suspect of being drug dealers themselves.....

Juan dela Cruz: Walks up to guy he thinks is dealing drugs with a gun tucked in his belt, "excuse me, I think you're a drug dealer, you are going to have to come with me to the police station so they can deal with you."
Suspected Drug Dealer: "Umm, go f*ck yourself!" (Can't blame him, even an innocent person is going to resist going with a person acting like that.)
Juan dela Cruz: Repeats he needs to go to with him then pulls up his shirt to show he's packing and serious......because "I'm macho".
Suspected Drug Dealer: a.) pisses himself and runs away....then probably gets shot in the back by Juan because he didn't understand the "and threatens a citizen with a gun or knife" part was an additional requirement that had to be met before he gets issued his Dutarded Medal, or b.) has a weapon and wants to play the "I'm more macho than you" game then pulls it....resulting in one or both of the contestants losing the macho title.

I really don't think that Duterte is that retarded. I hope everyone takes his comments in this article as the ignorant machismo drivel that it is and knows they shouldn't get involved or interfere with police arrests/drug busts/raids.....and that they sure as h*ll shouldn't be trying detain ANYONE to bring them to the police station.

In my home town, 90-95% of the young boys are hard core drug users, my neighbors, relatives, friend a (lady teacher) is a heavy user, and even teach will high on drugs!

In front of my parents(about 50meters) is a shabu den, there’s a daily transactions users and sex inside an old house, the son(owner) of a Military captain and has a brother Colonel (both parents died) is of course a drug dealer. Everybody in the village, town and the city knows what my neighbors is doing. My parents have brought the concern to the immediate law men(barangay forum) but of course they all just talk nonsense and no action from police and the politicians(which is his relatives).

Recently, the most wanted from Davao was killed few meters away from my parents home. They were 4 young guys and declared as NBI group and nicely told to my parents that the culprit had several crimes and became a drug dealer or middle man.
The assassinated criminal was been at large since 3 years and in fact stayed at the house of a retired police(my neighbor). He was also supplying several shabu den in my home town. After he died, my Shabu neighbor fled as he received an info that he will be the next target.

IMO, those Terminator knows what they are doing, they only Eliminate based on Job order. :blackalien:

Wonder when people will get tired of those same stupid lines being repeated over and over again. This guy really appears to have nothing else to say besides 'kill all the drug dealers'. Which is quite poor because besides crime this country indeed does have a few other problems.
