Hello... new member here in Dumaguete!

I recently arrived to Dumaguete from Tennessee and looking for a fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment or condo to rent for 6 months to 1 year in Valencia with my beautiful Filipina girlfriend. Is there anyone in this forum who knows the best way to find a place to live there? Thanks for your help!

 

Go to Valencia Plaza, go to resto-bar with red tables in mid block on the east side of the park. Start talking to the Expats there that are drinking at the tables (you may not want to get too friendly with them unless you are interested in solving most of the world problems while drinking beer throughout the day) . Word of mouth is one of the best ways to find a place of value as well as posting on here. So asked everyone and believe no one... hahahaha. It will take a while but you will be able to find one. Beware of the toxic fire smoke from the dumpsite, although most of the time the smoke does not blow in the direction of Valencia. ABSOLUTELY, spend the night (or at least visit it around mid-night and 4 AM) in the neighborhood you plan to live to determine where the hidden karaoke neighborhood resto-bars are located and what time in the morning the rosters start crowing and how loud they are. There are other threads on here with lots of helpful information on finding a house, and what other things to be aware of when looking. Posting here was a good start. Good Luck....
