Does anyone know a way to transfer USDs to the US to pay US taxes to the US treasury? I do not have a US bank and I am having difficulty finding a bank that can do it. BDO and PNB says they cannot do it. I cannot do it online with a Credit card as the amount is too much and as I said I do not have a US bank anymore. Help...!
An alternative may be to have a friend/family member send a check from a US account with all the appropriate information to credit you account to the tax agency, and then pay the friend/family member back. You may be able to send dollars back by Western Union or Xoom check with both of companies to see how they work. I have never tried so others may have more information on sending US dollars back to the US. Having a US bank account is the best way. There is the alternative of just not paying if you have no assets in the US. The IRS can deduct out of you SS (you may want to ask them, just to do that for you) normally the States can not. Talk to an account here or there, someone must have an answer. If you are from California I know a reasonably priced account that may be able to hand the situation for you. Good Luck, d not loose too much sleep over it.
What bank do you have an account with? If you have an account with PNB here is a list that can pay the IRS in dollars. http://www.pnb.com.ph/images/stories/docs/corres_banks/America_and_Pacific_Ocean/USA.pdf For other banks search Google for this: philippine banks with correspondent banks in the us shakey
You can also have a family member open a bank acct here in the U.S. for you. I did it by giving my daughter here in the US power of attorney to open accts, etc. I then just had to provide her with my passport/ID, SS#, etc..so she could open the acct (make sure it is one with a debit card and checks). If you could do that, then you would be able to handle transactions from there much more easily. It sure made my life much easier.
