I just got my dog an injection for ticks. They told me the ticks will all fall off in 3 days. My question is will the ticks be dead or alive when they fall off?

"WOW" Pat how Timely this has come up, Mine are just starting to get them again, The 3 month Dose has worn off I guess,
You should if it is like the "Frontline" or "Flip" products we are using, find them laying around in the Mornings near where the Dogs have Slept. It normally takes about 7/10 days for the medication to get to the extremities but as you have been Told 3/4 days to the local Area of the Injection, we use the Skin absorbed method but it is all about the Blood Circulation, However, Many just fall off but we still have to comb them through, Mainly the ones in Paws seem to hang about Longer, We check the ears and Eyes on a regular basis as for us these are two areas that seem to be the Last to eradicate the Blighters.
Best of Luck mate as we do seem to be in the Tick time again.

Mostly But the bigger ones may be on their last legs. You see they are sucking Poison Blood so most just evacuate those that do fall off alive will be dead in the morning when you find them

My old Boss in Oz use to go and pick the fresh shoots from Bracken Fern and boil it, then give a few spoons of the cooled liquid to his "Lassie" Dogs (I forget what they are called but they have very long hair so are a PITA to seek out the Ticks) All the ticks would drop off of them over several days and they seemed no worse for wear after ingesting the liquid, he told me it was deadly poisonous to Humans though (just a word of warning)

That's the one mate! (Flat out remembering what I did yesterday let alone retaining information like that anymore...) Bloody Alzheimer's! I think is getting the better of me! At least it works for my limited movie collection, as every couple of months I forget the original plot so I can watch the same movie again and be just as thrilled as the first time! :roflmao:

My lil Sis owned one of those Sheep Dogs, bought it home and was thrilled to pieces with it, until she unleashed it and it ran straight to the Creek and got clogged up with those sticky green burs and mud and crap, she shaved it pronto! lol
