we've always used the "gallon" bottle deliveries though i've never been squeamish about drinking from the tap.

lately i've taken to using a gravity fed water filter originally bought for camping to process tap water into the "gallon" bottles. it tastes well enough and less of a hassle than the delivery service (which was not really problematic).

We use the 5 gal jugs of water for drinking, making juice etc, but use tap water for coffee, teeth cleaning. No problems over the last 4 years - but then I spent 40 years in Africa and the Middle East so I'm probably immune to most bugs.

Why you not try a privat water filter in your home, they start around 5.000 PHS in good quality and you can use them for long time and you know that the water is clean cause you are the one who change the filter, I guess 1 filter need to change after 9 month and the other 2 after 12 month but its very comfortable to have all time fresh drinking water at your home. I really would miss it......

yes and yes. "service water" in restaurants. and have 5 gal jugs delivered, usually 20 to 40 pesos per jug. For Valencia, we stayed in MarPas apartments last year for a month, fantastic, with a pool and good service...

Well, if the water tastes like **** then the other opinions don't matter. Even the mineral water varies.

People always ask about the water, but it's the food which will get you. I don't know I have been sick from drinking anything but the alcohol. And the alcohol only made me sick because I drank too much. It also makes you pee a lot, which can be a pain in the @ss at times.

Just stop by a water place near you, give them directions and they'll hook you up.

As I posted on another thread years ago. I live in an area that is considered to have good clean water and I agree, BUT you have to realize the water pipes run near or through filthy canals, septic tanks, pig farms and more. These pipes commonly spring leaks that are not repaired for who knows how long, then so many people have illegal pumps that create a vacuum in the pipe sucking in what ever you can imagine. So P25 for 5 gallons of clean filtered water is a yes for me.:cautious:

I had some local friends who gave me drinking water from a jug they kept in the fridge. Yes it was tap water and it didn't make me terribly horribly sick but it did give me the hershey squirts to the point I was never quite sure it was safe to go out even with anti-diarrhea medicine and my farts were sulfurous smelling. I found out they were giving me tap water and I quit drinking water at their house and the problem cleared up. They didn't know it would harm me, they grew up drinking it. My tap water in Texas would have probably floored them with the chlorine and the runoff of chemical fertilizer from farmers fields (in season). Water station water is cheap insurance. I paid 20 php for 20 L and I could have gone 1 km more and got it for 19.5 php, this was in Sibulan.
