A Yamaha Mio 125 MX125 (new one is MXI125) is an automatic that will get you up the hill. Not cheap though. I have the first one sold in Negros and love be it.

I'm a sizable guy myself and rented a Mio for several months hauling my wife and I up to Valencia and around the island with no problems. However, I just bought a Honda Click and it's larger / better suited / more powerful (INHO) than the Mio. If you want to try it, I'd be happy to meet you and let you take it for a spin.

I have had my super 8 kymco 125 for 3 yrs.Digital clock quit after a couple months and i dont miss it.Other than that no problems whatsoever. It has the biggest seat out of all scoots I think which is real nice..as well as a huge storage under the seat large enough for your helmet. It will cruise all day at 80k,tops out about 110k with a tailwind. Not the fastest but a great ride and the front disc is very good although rear drum is more of a coaster brake..wouldnt rely on it to stop you fast. The new super 8's are all 150cc I think and going for 77k,,I would buy another one for sure although after your free oil changes I wouldnt use the service dept...;''come back later sir''

What does that mean? Some guys may think they are "sizable" at 200lbs, I think I am sizable at 250LBS, I have seen in the last week a few guys looking like 350-450lbs. What category of "sizable" are you?

I have a Mio like PatO for the past 9 months and very happy. No problem with my 80kg plus SO 48kg going up the hill to Valencia. What I really like is how light and nimble it is.

I am coming to the end of my "free" service period and interested to hear of a good mechanic here in Dumaguete. Any suggestions?

6'3" tall and 250 pounds. The Click also gives me enough legroom to be somewhat comfortable. I kept hitting my knees on the Mio.

If you are good with semi automatic look at the XRM 125 Motard, 125cc, disc brakes front and rear, plenty of power for up and down Valencia to Duma for you and a passenger. It was a close 2nd but I went with a Rouser 180 only because I wanted extra power and ground clearance getting further up the mountain past Valencia where the road is steeper and the pavement ends. The XRM would have been a no brainer if I didn't have the need to go up in the province.

Definitely the Click (and Mio) are essentially useless off pavement with steep hills. I plan to only use the Click for paved roads and the occasional dirt road that's pretty flat.

I also chose the Click for the under seat storage, flat floorboards (for groceries), fuel injection and water cooled. All were pros for me!
