Kymco are ok. In the US I had heard people complain that they do not have quite the fit and finish of a Honda, but they never saw a Honda assembled in the Philippines either.

I would stay away from the Like 200i as it is actually 163cc and the 200 is just advertising. The like 300 had coolant leak and overheating problems a few years ago but that may have been resolved now. How far "up the hill" are we talking about? Tierra Alta is probably going to be a no-go on any scooter less expensive than a car.

    I haven't ridden a Kymco so can't help there.

Rented a MIO p70,000-p88,000 for the wife to practice driving on last month. The first thing I noticed was it felt small, meaning my body size wanted a wider grip and more foot room, a bigger framed bike. Power was adequate for trips to Liptong but I felt lacking in starting, merging, passing and would prefer something that would get across an intersection and match traffic speed a bit faster.

Haven't ridden a Click p87,900 either but rode a XRM p70,300 (also a honda 125 but semi-automatic). The XRM felt comfortable and had the power I found lacking lacking in the MIO. Looking at the specs for the MIO and Click, the Click has 20% more horsepower and torque, definitely enough to be noticeable.

Scooters aren't generally known for passing power, there is only so much you can do with their CVT transmission. If you are willing to pay car prices though Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, SYM and Kymco have some scooters that would fare well, you might have to order them though. Aprilia used to have a very nice line of scooters but only the 50cc now.

If I were set on a less expensive Kymco I would see if they could order me an Agility 16+ if they didn't have one in stock. It replaces the discontinued Agility City, 16" front wheel, 14" rear,, f/r disc brakes.

Thanks for all the info. I ended up with a new Kymco Super 8 150cc scooter. I had a line on a used 2015 version of the same model, but there were enough serious paperwork glitches that I opted out of the drama and bought new. So far, very happy with it, although it's my first scooter/motorbike of any sort, so I have nothing to compare it to. Being a newbie to two-wheeled motor transport, I wanted a scooter and auto transmission so that I could concentrate on the rolling circus developing around me at all times, and not worry about shifting gears, too.

I had two scooters in the past. A Piaggio Hexagon 125 and a Honda FES 125 Pantheon. The first one was a very comfortable scooter with lot of room to place the grocery stuff. The later one was very good at climping and it reached 100 km/h top speed with its 15 hp.

Are there scooter available with around 250 cc and how good are these?

Some time ago I did see Vespa scooters in the Rmall. The dealer is situated in Bacolod. Most likely there is a website for more details. Not sure if 250cc made are available but only 200cc as far as I do remember well.
