    But Rebecca was not Gino's spouse at the time he leased from her. You could lease from a GF but not from a spouse.

    Understood. I think the courts look at leasing from ones wife as evidence of evading the anti-dummy law. Why would you need to lease from your wife? Presumably the money would go back into joint income? Surely your wife would allow you to improve the value of the land she owns by building a house on it?

    I have literally seen where foreigners stated online the plan to lease from their fiancee before marrying her after being informed that they could run afoul of the law leasing from their wife which was their first idea.
