Be thankful you don't have to deal with cold along with that rain. I'm missing the tropical weather more than anything right now.

Why do you think we're here instead of the California sierra's ??? Where are you currently and how long before you return to traffic-clogged paradise ??? With the economy pumping along in DMG, in the last 6 months, 500 people have sold motorcycles and bought SUV's and Dual Cab Pickups, but they still drive like motorcycle drivers <grin>, otherwise the place is pleasant as always. Should be a fun weekend, just about our first monsoon..

Afghanistan and I don't know. Maybe a year, maybe two years, maybe never make a permanent move back to Dumaguete. It all depends on what I think about Cambodia/Thailand/Malaysia/Vietnam/etc and what the Philippines does in the next year or two. I moved to the Philippines because of the high level of personal freedom it offered (plus English is widely spoken). Now they seem to want to move in the direction of a nanny state where the government wants to holds your hand to cross the street to make sure you do it safely. It is the people's right to move in that direction if they want...but I want no part of it.

I believe, although named, Auring was downgraded to a Low Pressure Area by PAGASA this morning, also later maps put the track up around La Libertad or so around 11 tonight (1/9)... Thanks Davy, indeed looks like a fizzle...
