Everyone I know who smokes meat uses the wood shavings from the local furniture makers. They mostly times give it away. But if you offer to buy it I am sure they will take your money. The Philippine Mahogany chips work well.
Maybe but I doubt it. My friend Kev the Butcher does not use mango chips. He gets his wood chips from furniture a maker either Gemelina or Mahogany or another wood that I can not remember the name but it is all wood chips that they make furniture out of.
Couple guys were saying today that coconut husks are good for smoking on the grill. Evidently they give off tons of smoke
