Is that your only complaint against Noreco? How about their 10% interest charge if you pay your bill one day late. Legal rate of interest in the Philippines is 6% per annum. How about the charge for system losses? That means that because they are too lazy to check for illegal connections, they can just charge the honest payers extra to cover the loss. Licence to print money.

Third brownout upper Batinguel in less than 24 hours. Calling NORECO incompetent would be rating them too high. It also knocks out something to do with the TV from Phil Products so we will not have TV again for 6-12 hours Grrrrrrrrrrr..............

We in Liptong, Valencia, must be on the same feed. We had three on Friday. Then early Saturday morning another one hit at 1:30 am and lasted 9 hours.

It's baffling (or, maybe not) that the town with such enormous geothermal generating capacity can't even provide it's own townsfolk with even semi-reliable electrical service.

National Power Corporation(NPC) has nothing to do with distribution, they merely sell energy to the cooperatives, who may or may not distribute it to consumers.

And it was on the radio this morning that they have just raised the rate 29 cents. How do you like their service now ?

Having lived in Malatapay the past two years I assumed Black outs were the norm here? :o o: EVERY Saturday and MOST Sundays means "Black Out" for most of the day, often until dark, then again late at night during the week on the odd day... But it occurs (99%) EVERY weekend, not sure what they do during this time (maintenence or if someone just has a grudge with the local Mayor so cuts power to p*ss him off?) but I thought it was a widespread occurrence here (all over) not just a local thing.

Dumaguete has some rolling blackouts but most never last an hour. I have seen postings where a particular Dumaguete barangay, or two, have a scheduled blackout on a weekend during daylight hours. I think the farther you get from downtown, the more often and more lengthy your blackouts both scheduled and capricious. (I don't know why they call them "brownouts." That is a different thing.)

Tried educating the Wife and family regards this but when the power goes off they all insist it is a brownout... :o o: I once showed them when the Fan was slowly rotating ~> THAT IS a BROWNOUT! Compared to NO Fan rotating ~> BLACKOUT! But all to no avail... :speechless:

But weekend Blackouts lasting most of the day are a part of life in Zamboanguita area, my Bro In-law is notified by the Bakery when to come into work and when to not come in depending on how long the Blackouts last, I have tried asking him to ask his Boss HOW he knows in advance so I can look into it when we are going to get them, but all I get is smiling and nodding and no good news... :whistling:

Same thing with "pedicabs". It is a battle you will never win.
