The house we are renting is being attacked by termites..Kitchen cupboards are being eaten out......The owner is in Australia and is having trouble organising an inspection and treatment.......Has anyone on here used a pest control company here succesfully that they would use again?....

We had a problem like this a few months back,it was dry wood termites and were dropping piles of wood dust everywhere, didnt realise the damage they can do until the pest guy showed us.
You can buy the stuff online but expensive for a liter.
So try this guy and i know he will sort it, vira pest on 09265072891 the treatment you need is called agenda and is injected into the small holes using a syringe.

Really need to find someone who can locate and deal with the nest which can be hundreds of meters away from the house, a mates house back on Oz got chewed out really bad and they found the nest under a tree about 100m away from the house.

Interesting, I thought all came from nests like all of the ones I have seen back in Oz, I have read there are many many varieties and only a few attack houses, so these ones do not live in a nest under ground? :o o:

Nope! They live and breed in dry wood,i always wondered why we had a bunch of discarded wings on the kitchen counters in the morning. The young hatch with wings and fly off to chew into some other wood.

Well I just googled it, I did not realise there were 'dry' and 'damp' termites that attacked houses, I also 'assumed' that here would be safer due to the sandy ground, I thought part of creating a termite barrier was placing crushed granite (like very coarse sand) around the base of your foundations so assumed that the sandy nature of the ground here would deter the lil bugga's from finding a way in :o o:

We occasionally get plagues here of flying ants at night, which I assume are termites, many dropped wings on the ground under the outside lights in the morning and a sleepless night with them crawling all over you, luckily here all timber is exposed, but will be keeping an eye out for the plywood kitchen cabinets I built :o o:

Our landlord uses Truly Care, Undo Alcoreza 0906 537 9614 / 0916 325 5790, seems very professional, but probably not the cheapest.

If you are talking about the massive swarms of large mosquito/small dragonfly looking insects those are called mayflies (not sure what the local word for them is). They only come out during certain times of the year but when they do come out...FFS keep the lights off at night!
