Its certainly different from last years heatwave,we were all cooking by april with no rain!
Not sure where you are kelpguy but your jan figure may be out just a bit,we has 189mm alone on jan 16th and that was mostly in a 6hr period.

    hi DavyL...
thanks for calling me on my january rain total.

i'm just up the hill from you at 400m and i'm pretty sure we get a bit more rain up here than you lowlanders, we've only had one day this month w/o precipitation.

my reading for january 15 shoulda been .60'' instead of 6.06'' so my total for january 2017 was actually 6.06''
i have a manual rain recording system and i keep record on an excel sheet and manually enter the data but i let excel do the math.

i wonder about the 189mm rain you recorded on january16th, my calculator translates that to 7.47,'' did you mean to post 189mm for the month? i mean, do we ever have a 189mm rain?

the history calendar for january shows duma (not dain) as having 71.88 mm/ 2.83 in on the 16th. i think i got that right.

are you the guy that has the dauin wunderground page? it'd be interesting to compare notes sometime.

I have to admit, compared to the City I came from (Ipswich, Queensland, Australia) I find the Summers here very tolerable! I spent too many Summers in Oz (33 Years in Ipswich) sweltering watching the Bitumen melt on the roads! No Air-con here for me and NO complaints - Lovin' it!

i'm not complaining but it's still looking like summer's been canceled on account of rain. it's may 15 and there's only been a few days of summer this dry season. i've recorded 5.4'' rain for april and 7.4 so far for may. monday nites rain measured 2.4'' in my area.

    DavyL200
i read that you had 11mm for that same rain and i'm curious what your readings are for april and may.

i think the weather here is wonderful; most rains come at nite and most days are partly sunny with good breezes.

The last storm was 110mm or 4.5 inches. So far in may we have had 9.5 inches. Will have to go onto wu to check aprils readings later.

Into every life a little rain must fall but its been hot enough to give me the highest electric bill (for running my aircons) in 3 years. May is typically the most expensive month for my electric bill and it runs in the low 5K range. Its 5,750 this month. Summer is here.
