Don't even get me started there :banghead:
I have my Paypal from Oz which I always uploaded money from my Bank Account, but my Pension is now paid directly into my Philippines Bank account, so I messaged Paypal to try and change my Oz Paypal to the Philipppines/Bank etc, no go, needed to open a new Paypal, so did that, but no way can I upload from my Bank Account like my Oz Paypal, now I need to get a Credit Card so I can upload money to my Philippines Paypal, but to do that I need to open a new Bank Account and link a card to it or some BS like that, I do not know WHY Paypal is different here than in the West where you can just simply upload from your Bank Account to have credit in your Paypal account... :o o:

Will wait until it is closer to 'payday' before I try and order... Thanks for your reply.

So don't open a Philippine PayPal account. Open an Australian one, or a US one, or a UK one...there are ways to make it happen: mainly, go to the bottom of the page and click the country flag and change to which version of the site you want to open.

I had to get over my hatred for PayPal and open/re-open my PayPal accounts due to many online companies ONLY accepting Payments through them....and, as bad as I hate PayPal, I trust them more with my bank/card information than some of these smaller websites (some of them don't even use https for payment processing, pure incompetence). I have both a Philippine and US PayPal account. Once you have an account registered in a country you can just log on as normal and it will redirect you to the appropriate site.

(I didn't even need to enter a Philippine address. I just changed the country of my US address to the Philippines.)

    US:

The only problem I sometimes have with this is that I occasionally get told by PayPal "US citizens can not purchase items with PayPal from this country." when using my US PayPal on Philippine websites.

I have an Australian PayPal which I used to upload money directly to from my Australian Bank Account, no need for a Credit Card, easy-peasy! Made 340+ transactions and assumed I could keep using it here keeping my 100% rating...
But once here; I tried linking my Philippines Bank Account to it (Aussie PayPal) in place of my Australian Bank Account (which I can no longer use) and no go!
So enquired to PayPal who told me NO GO! CANNOT DO! Open a Philippines PayPal account and use that instead! So that I did, only to be thwarted by the process of topping up my PayPal account, which means I need to have a Credit Card (MasterCard/Visa) to be able to upload money to my Philippines PayPal account.
Went back to the Bank to speak to the Manager regards PayPal and asked if I could link a Debit Card to my Account and was told I cannot do that. I need to open another Bank Account and then apply for the Card to link it to the PayPal/Bank accounts so I can then upload to my Philippines PayPal account.
There just does not seem to be any easy way around it but to do it how PayPal have told me to do it, meaning a lot of BS opening a separate account, applying and linking a card etc just to add credit to my PayPal account here.
If I did not prefer to buy better quality online compared to what is available here, I would simply close it all down and walk away, but I would like to purchase good quality name brand items from time to time so looks like I will just need to go ahead and open the account, apply for the Card then link it to my Philippines PayPal account and then HOPE it all works... :banghead:

Is your current Philippine bank account a savings account? I don't think you can have a debit card on a savings account (only an ATM card) and I also don't think that debit cards are a standard option with checking accounts in the Philippines yet...and they probably won't be until debit cards are a standard payment option at most stores.

I think my very first checking account, some 15-20 years ago, in the US was the same way....they actually issued me "checks" (or cheques for those that don't know how to spell :troll:). So the Philippines is about 20 years behind Western banking standards and it will probably be another 20 to never-going-to-happen years before they get to where we are today. Too many scammers and too many people completely ignorant on card/banking security.

A little off topic, but how is shipping handled on products bought from say China or the US? I know US Ebay now has an mechanism to make it easier to ship items oversees by shipping it to them and then they send it oversees. Shipping costs, transit costs and lost packages would be my major concerns. I'm also curious if it would make any sense to use Ebay, paid for with PayPal to ship things for you. For example, you put an item up and have your family buy it for $1 as soon as posted and then leverage Ebay shipping.

I Know from experience buying from eBay (Chinese products in China) back in Australia, the same item can be posted for a few dollars (MOSTLY FREE Postage) to Australia and the Philippines (bought and sent many items to my wife here in the Philippines) where as the same item purchased from America the US Postage was RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE!!!

    You would be the one who sets the postage price, so obviously you would charge ONLY what UPS etc would charge you to send the particular item, but going by the retarded prices quoted for posting abroad from the US IMHO you would find it far more economical to ship items via the Balikbayan Box system;

    This is...

    *AHEM* :pompus:
    * You guys were taught 'British English' by your Forefathers :pompus: hence why such words as 'color' is really "colour" 'License' is "Licence" 'Humor' is "Humour" and so on until eventually over time; 'Correct English' was lost in history...
