    I have SkyCable TV and it uses a digibox so the cable goes to the box and there is an HDMI cable from the box to the TV. I want to have cable going to my second TV downstairs so I put in a cable line splitter and ran a second line downstairs. Problem is I can get no signal unless I have a second SkyCable digibox.

    I do have an old Filproducts cable box that I hooked up, hoping that would work, but it shows "no signal" so it does not work with SkyCable.

    So does anyone have a SkyCable digibox they are not using that they would sell or trade for the Filproducts box? Or maybe someone wants to buy the Filproducts box and I can buy a SkyCable box on OLX? AND does anyone know if that would even work?

    Reason: Trying to beat the system. If I tell SkyCable I wan to run 2 tvs they want to double my monthly fee from 499 to 998.

    If they are anything like the ones back in Oz then you cannot get a second to work as they turn them on back at base, I had two boxes back home and when I disconnected the one in the bedroom they turned it off at the company, so even with the second box remaining, I could NOT get it to work for love nor money when I tried to connect to the first box in my loungeroom...

    Maybe something like this would work better for you;

    I think the best you could do would be to split the signal coming out of the cable box. This would force you to watch the same thing on both TVs...which probably isn't what you are looking for.

    I actually did try that but it did not work. The cable coming out of the box would not attach to my tv as it needs an HDMI cable to get the signal. Its too far for an HDMI splitter and 30 foot of HDMI cord to do the job. But thanks for the suggestion.
    Will do

    Just for info, Skycable charges P2000, for anyone who cancels their service and doesn't return their box, which is added to one's final bill. I know this from personal experience, after we cancelled their service to one of our houses. They also never mention that one has to return it, before you get your last billing.

    If it's like the USA, authorization is per box. My prediction is having another Skycable box will do you no good. If they support mcards, you could try Tivo or MCE, which let you use extenders to leverage the tuner at the primary box.

    I may actually owe Filproducts for the cable box I have. Nah, it was not in my name. I just paid the bill each month until I moved and took the box with me, expecting to have Filproducts service in my new location. When I found out it was not available I did not go into their office and ask for a "final bill" I just forgot about it. I would expect there may be a few Skycable excustomers who did the same.

    yes i agree as i remember when we had a skycable tech come fix our cable problem at our house he had to replace our box and call in to hqtrs to get the thing registered and up and running again.

    I pay Sky Cable P250 per cable box for each additional TV (one TV is included in the monthly fee). For one additional TV on a P499 plan would be P749.
