    But with these condo prices on the Philippines I doubt that there will be many dubious people in these. A condo can be good for someone who is not living all time there like a 6/6 foreigner or an OFW.

    Most OFWs don't make nearly enough to buy a newer condo in the Philippines. Maybe if they were orphans and were making payments on it. I've met a few who could technically afford it, but it would be the same as if I went out and bought a $1 million dollar yacht...while possible, it would be extremely irresponsible and the maintenance/fees/taxes that come along with it would quickly ruin me (and I would be busy doing nothing but working for the next 5 years straight while that yacht sat somewhere without me ever getting to use it).

    That sounds more like low-cost government subsidized housing for the poor than it does a condo.

    That's just how the "Gold Chain Brigade" rolls in Oz, you would be surprised how many can afford to live in the upmarket areas! :biggrin:

    Sorry but for me cluster housing is still cluster housing, lived in units before and hate the fact that you do not have space between you and the guy next door and have shared facilities and EVERYONE knows your private business... If I could do it I would live smack bang in the middle of a 100 acre lot! The ex-Father In-law bought 30 acres an hour out of the city and thought he was set until a cranky German guy bought the acreage next to him and built a house SMACK BANG BESIDE HIM then spent years lodging complaints with the Police and local Council about the noise and smell from his animals, working on his race cars etc until he got fed up and sold up and moved even further away!

    Most real estate agents or even house sellers have a wrong image about the income of an OFW. Quite easy to experience when you talk to them or to read their flyers.

    Try to ask them if they know the land owning laws for foreigners. Only some will know these laws.
