The corrective lens was installed as part of the cataract surgery replacement of the eye lens. It is just an "add-on" to putting in a normal non-corrective lens for the cataract replacement.

 

Thank you very much for all your advise about eyedoctor. I started out in Robinson, had a visit to Globe, then easy go next door. I explain my problem to first staff in shop, after to a lady I assumed was an eyedoctor. She ask me to sit down and put my head in a holder, and tell her what kind of letters I see on the board, little like when we renew drivinglicense. No problem to see the letters until she gave me glasses on, whit different strength, then big problems to see anything lol. After a few minuts I told her, lets waite with eyetest/glasses, I want you to remove the small peace of iron, I have in my right eye. She looked surpriced at me, and told me, she don't have skills for that, I realized she was an optician. Went to Aces eye clinic beside Hypermart, problem solved, fast, easy, clean clinic and payed around 600 peso, very cheap.
About the laser surgery, I have friends who get that, age from 30-70 years old, all very happy with result, no use of linses or glasses after

So I've torn up my ACES paperwork and see a trip to Cebu soon, Show Pony's numbers are spot on and illustrate why Cebu Drs is the wise choice! Keep in mind the those numbers are per eye so the savings is substantial!

 

Can anyone suggest a good Optometrist? The last 3 or 4 pairs of glasses I had done in Oz are a PITA! I have to lean forwards to see the writing on the screen which pains my back. Each time I have asked for glasses so I can use a PC and each time I have gotten unsuitable glasses! Hoping someone here will listen and make a pair of glasses where I do not need to make the resolution so I need to slide the screen side to side to read all of the writing!

 

Have you tried the Eye Center at Holy Child?

 

No, not yet as I do not know where/who does glasses here, reliably at the least, as back in Oz it pissed me off no end going to supposedly reputable places who always tell you to wear your glasses and allow them time to work, if they are not working when you pick them up I fail to see how they will work at a later date which after two+ years I am still waiting for mine to 'work' so I do not need to lean in close to the screen or hold writing at arms length to read small print.

I will try and see if I can get a referral from my Blood Dr as I know she also works at the Holy Child Hospital.
