I found good online reviews for this place in Makati but it is far to go and for 140K pesos its a lot of money. So has anyone had Lasik done in Philippines? Where and for how much and what did you think of the end result?

For people who have not heard of it, Lasik surgery is supposed to be a quick and easy way to repair your eyes so you don't need glasses. The one person I know to have it done got it done in the USA 10 years ago and said his eyes are only now starting to have trouble where he may start to need glasses again.

But where to do it for cheap? I mean if this company can offer a "student promo" for 58K then there should be someone else offering deals.

My co-worker had Lasik in Manila. She mentioned that her right eye is fine but the left feels like there's always dust in it so she needs eye drops all the time. I'll ask her where and how much when I see her again on Tuesday.

I think they offer Lasik at Cebu Doctors. The price was around 40K if I recall correctly.

Do you recall if that is "all-in" or per eye? Do they ever do one eye only? I am new to the idea and have only met one person who has ever had it done.

    That would be per eye.
When I had a lens implant I only needed it in one eye so that's what I had done.
Personally I would never do both eyes at the same time just in case there is a problem.

Your eyes are pretty important, so my primary criteria would not be the cheapest cost. Best equipment and best doctor I can afford would be how I approach it. How much would you pay, if your were blind, to see?

I'd personally fly back home or go to Thailand or Hong Kong for anything that involved life, limb or eyesight. The Lasik surgery is very cheaper and probably safer (depending on where you get it done) in Thailand.

Now I know I wouldn't end up saving any money doing it in Thailand given the travel and hotel costs (at best I would break even)....but I'd certainly end up having more fun :sneaky:. I would also feel a little safer having more experienced/competent and better trained doctors do the procedure.
