Best to get double walled insulation, as the single wall will eventually turn to powder.

Got some from city hardware, but DN roofing also sells it.

Just a word of warning on the Foil Insulation, it NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED PROPERLY!

There were deaths in Australia caused by this type of Insulation due to exposed wiring contacting the foil sheeting or by stapling into live wires, also many house fires were attributed to this type of insulation, in the video it says to install over the insulation (like Fibreglass/Wool Insulation) I believe in Australia many installers were simply laying out this foil sheeting without the barrier of the wool type insulation beneath it, which is why it came alive when contacting exposed wiring, be it by poor installation or chewed by vermin etc...

The house I lived in had a low ceiling and on a hot day, simply standing up you could feel the air was much hotter around your head! The Government installed the fiber wool type insulation, I checked the thermometer on the day of installation then again the next day after and found it to have dropped by 10 to 15 degrees Celsius between outside in the shade under the Carport to inside comparisons, checking over time including Winter it was a noticeably effective type of insulation.

I would be wary of installing this type of foil insulation here given the known quality of the work carried out in the Philippines especially regards the electrical wiring. I would maybe seek the advice of a very competent House Builder and be asking them if they could perform the installation of roofing insulation instead of trusting some small get up as well as double checking existing wiring that could well be already chewed by vermin.

Just go with a nice fan and skip the dehumidifier. All that humidity is good for the skin and will help keep the wrinkles away.

@Jack Peterson I went back and re-read your thread from October 2015 "Polaris" & the Air-Con can you do a followup? What brand did you choose/why? How have your electric bills been? Any more dealing with Polaris (cleaning etc)? Are you happy with the purchase? Is there a way to check possible low voltage issue Before installation and what is/are the fix(es) for it?

I chose Deakin. My Bills are very good as we control things. Last Bill was 3700+ with a 1/2, a 1 and a 3hp units(and we get no preferential Treatment on Bills) by temp setting to our needs, our house is 140 mtr sq. We use their service for Cleaning and found it good and cost effective, (Dave "H" also uses the service) I am happy with the Service and as I stated at the time they would NOT commission the Units until I Had my own Transformer due to the variable voltage. They can check the Voltage before installation based on other appliances in the House. Steve they are GOOD, they can do, what it says on the can

From everything I have read from searches and threads of my own I plan on going to Polaris and talking to them about a 2hp, split, inverter. Your answer here was my last cross-check. Never heard of Deakin (and several others) as I am only familiar with US brands. I know there are other good brands available and have no desire to pay extra for a name I know (that might not even actually be better). The voltage issue is the only part that has me concerned now. Even though I am still in Valencia proper (about 1 minute walk from the Mormon Church, down Amor Street) I am far enough off the road to be unsure of the quality of power here. An issue I now know to bring up at Polaris. Thanks!

Its because its DAIKIN (I got one too) and I did not mention the installer/cleaner who is very good (as Jack said) because he is a very busy man and hard to get him to come do the work. It means you have to be extremely friendly and drop a few names and a few extra pesos to get him to fit you in.

My brain shut down or something because I am totally confused now. What is because of Daikin? I thought both of you went through Polaris which is a company and the company is a busy man? Or Polaris does not install or maintain? WIll that make more sense once I go there?

The make of air conditioner is DAIKIN. That may be why you have not heard of Deakin, its a spelling mistake that may make it hard to find the brand of aircon that JP mentions.

He and I both have them installed and we both used the same installer. But we purchased the units from different places. The installer is a private contractor. He did JPs install etc because he is on contract with Polaris (as I understand it) and he did my cleaning and re-install (my initial installer screwed it up) because I mentioned my good friend, JP, told me to ask as a favor. He charged me a little more than normal but he is good. I am happy to pay a little extra for extra quality. It was not easy to pin him down on a time to come and do it because he is usually fully booked and was reluctant to take on a new customer.

This private contractor is a busy man. He has people working for him because he has got to the point where he cannot handle it all himself but if you are JP or some other VIP then you get the big guy himself to do the job for you. Mucho better!

EDIT: It occurs to me that you are considering dealing direct with Polaris so it will likely be a simple matter for you to get Ding to install it. (He is on contract with them.) Its when you want to save a few pesos buying somewhere cheaper that you run into the question of who will install it and maintain it and take care of the warranty work. If I were a rich man, I would have bought mine from Polaris :-)
