    The muffler can probably isn't large enough in diameter to allow sufficient sound absorbing material. I think HPG is just targeting the shitty ones.

    Some big bikers with no mufflers at all are going to be in for a surprise...

    If you mean certain foreigners on huge, loud Harleys, I am also wondering about that.

    Yes; there is NOISY Aftermarket; (The type they are targeting)
    [IMG]

    Then, there is Quiet Aftermarket Factory style Mufflers;
    [IMG]

    And if you want the Aftermarket Sporty look yet keep it quiet at the same time you can buy Mufflers you can add baffles to like this;

    Plenty of Filipino big bike owners around as well.

    -I haven't heard that nice sounding though a bit loud Honda Super Four go by my place as it used to almost daily. Wonder if he got busted

    The noise law was published a while ago. I think the limit was about 90 db. The law was poorly written as it didn't specify which db scale (a,b,c etc) not did it specify the distance or angle from the exhaust opening.
    Good try for the LTO but no cigar.

    There was a guy who came through the Malatapay Markets every weekend that sounded like a Formula One Race Car complete with the resonating echo! Sounded AWESOME! :biggrin: But have noticed the past two weekends, I have not heard him with the group of Bikes who head to Bayawan every weekend on their weekend ride... Maybe his Bike is now gathering Cob Webs also... :o o:

    The letter from lto you posted earlier came out early last year when all this started. Go to a motorcycle spares shop and look inside all the mufflers hanging up for sale,everyone has no baffles. These are the ones the hpg are targeting or bikes with no mufflers which are far worse.
    Next time yourse in town go the pnp stn and just have a look at the junk they have in there which has been confiscated they wont mind :smile:
    There was an artilcle last week that they will also target the stores selling the ilegal muffles.

    There is a big stink up in Australia over Stores selling illegal aftermarket accessories, the young guys argue if it is illegal then how come they can go into any number of stores and purchase these illegal items, but 'most stores' have a small sign stating that the buyer needs to check with their regulatory authority before fitting aftermarket accessories to their vehicles' so in effect cover themselves by being able to sell something illegal for road use, as far as they are concerned it might just well be for 'off-road use only'... I wonder IF the local guys could get away with selling these illegal accessories here if they posted a disclaimer where the onus is on the buyer to check before fitting and that the part is designed for off-road use only? :biggrin:

    IF the PNP held a Monthly Auction selling confiscated Motorcycles and Cars to the public (who then rectified the problems making them legal before re-registering) they could add a WHOLE LOT MORE to their Xmas Party Funds! :biggrin:

    I am wondering if the LTO cares about on road or off-road. Example: Try going to renew your registration after its a year late and telling them you did not register it because it was only used on your own property or only used off-road for that year. I have not tried by the skeptic in me says it will not matter.
