I'm referring to a couple guys I've seen. One was chasing waitresses in one kitchen door and out the other without being stopped. Another had his gf's @ss up on the counter in the Swiss Chalet as he leered at customers seated inside-at noon hour.

When I brought it up to the tall manager, she was hesitant to complain to the guy 'unless he was in a good mood' . Sounds like a bit of favoritism to me.

I told her her job was to manage customers and employees, and Filipinos and their families won't come back during the morning or day if there's that kind of nonsense allowed. -She was unfazed

Sounds like she is intimidated by expats to me...especially unpredictable drunk ones. Can't really blame her for that. The night managers at Why Not are better equipped to deal with the drunks than the daytime restaurant staff/managers.

I think it is getting to the point to where we, the expat community, need to start policing ourselves and letting those that act like twats know that they, and their antics, are not welcome. Landlords need to deny rent and evict drunks and problem starters. There will always be a landlord that will take money from a drunk and tolerate them but those places should be only suitable for squatters. Bar owners (aka legal drug dealers) should be held partially liable for feeding these drunks addiction and for any damage they may cause to other people. Note: Bar owners should not be held responsible for any injury or damage a drunk does on to themselves...that would only enable drunks and allow them to pass the blame for their own demise on to others. Alcoholics should be completely liable for the damage they cause to themselves and to others...and if they hurt someone else the bar should have to match whatever the addict had to pay out to the 3rd party.

It is getting ridiculous in the Philippines with the quality of expats coming in. I really think the Philippines should shorten their allowed tourist visa stay to 6 months or less and create a new type of resident visa for those that are single and can prove they have enough money to live comfortably in the country. Anyone proven to be a drug addict (this includes alcoholics), even if on a resident visa, should be shown the door and blacklisted for at least a year.

Par for the course. She's not going to put her safety on the line (dealing with drunks) for a bunch of long noses or their business. She should have called the police, had them remove him and throw him in a cell until he sobers up (which he should have to pay rent for at around P1k/hour until he is able to blow a 0.00 on a breathalyzer) but she probably didn't want to have to deal with the repercussions of police reports or possibly having to show up in court as a witness. If the owner isn't alright with this he should retrain the manager or hire a new one with more experience. If the owner doesn't care.....then I guess you should find somewhere else to eat at.

Was there anything stopping you from calling the police? You could have called them and said there was a medical emergency (the guy had alcohol poisoning). Have him sent to the hospital via ambulance, which surely would have pissed him off when he came to and had to pay the bill.

If this 911 thing actually starts to work I will certainly be using it to "save the life" of many passed out drunks. Better safe than sorry I say....f*ck what it costs the drunks, not my problem.

That standards of a few foreigners have here have certainly reached an all time low over the last few years,im sure we have all seen this via posts from local news sites.

I don't believe in local news sites, they can be right, they can be wrong. God idea you need proof, you have money enough to take care of your self. There are coming to many Peter Vandever types the last years

All this while I thought the title was "Discussing An Incident..." ! For some reason, I missed the "t" or thought it was a typo and I liked the idea of "what can we do?". Did somebody say to the waitress "Ok, no tip for you today because I'm paying a tricycle to get this guy to the police station"? I think it's safe for both sides to let the authorities handle the situation and if 911 really works, calling help is the first step a responsible person should do.

I would help the guy home or to a hotel, he's drunk and can't take care of him self, but he's not a criminal, so far as I know, why call the police ?

The problem is when dealing with drunks, is you never know if you are about to end up in a world of hurt yourself, every case is different but often the outcome is the same... (Ugly Drunk) Recently a 'foreigner' came here with the SIL, within 5 to 6 glasses of SM & Redhorse Beer, in a flash he turned argumentative and totally irrational catching everyone completely off guard! I now close my door the minute he pulls up and I would not lift a finger if I saw him in a public Bar laying on his ear, or anyone else for that matter, hence why I avoid such places like the plague!

It depends on the Country but it is a Criminal offence in the UK (although minor & a Magistrates Court appearance) I know, as I have been there and done that many years ago. Not sure about here but I think it would be a lock up for the Night

When I meet drunk foreigner and he's behavior is stupid, I move on, but a guy who get sick, because he get to drunk, I will always help him, just me. My family had bar, resturant and nightclubs, I work there sometimes and have seen a lot. Of course, if people want fight and make trouble, then call police, but not because people get to drunk, help them home. JP your right it's a criminal offence to get drunk in many countries, but as long you don't interferes with other people, I can't see the problem. Many, many criminals around, my self inclusive sometimes, lol
