    But at the same time much of what politicians do is not to snatch away large chunks of freedoms we enjoy at one time. They chip away at small pieces over a longer period. The US is not even close to being the most "free" country in the world. Much of our legislature is put forward out of public fear....with much of that far mongering and lies coming from fake news sources and/or extremely biased media and the gullible citizens who are more than happy to consume and spread it. It is something that needs to be addressed. How? I'm not sure.

    I agree. And I'm not sure I have the will to put any effort into it. If the election of Trump didn't do it for me, then I suppose nothing will.

    Book recommendation on the subject. It's a great book and I'm going to read it again. I lost my book notes when someone stole my cellphone. Grr.

    Why would the election of the best president in our lifetimes (or so I've been told) be cause for alarm? :troll:
