Looking for a used typewriter. Anyone have one collecting dust and taking up space? Any leads on a store that sells office machines? Thanks!

Oh, yes. It does have to work. Electric or manual, okay.

It would have to be a used one, because sure as **** nobody is going to be making money selling new typewriters.

I'm pretty sure you could find one in any government office as their main output device. And that typewriter probably is collecting dust while the office head is collecting money.

Why not just get a computer with a keyboard which makes really loud clacking sounds? You could probably even find an app which makes keyboard typing sounds.

    I did see a typewriter on Lazada, but d*mn, it's 12K.

I had seen them at Aly Mae at various times. You might check around at the surplus stores. But, you might have problems getting the ribbons........

Because I don't need clacking sounds. I need a typewriter. (It's different than a computer, but since the keyboards are similar, I understand the confusion.)

I saw Lazada's offering, too. I'm not crazy.

Update: On your suggestion, I went to Alymae on Rovira and found a really nice Smith Corona portable in excellent condition. The case didn't have a scratch or dent, either. They are having a 30% off sale and got it for P1800. Considering the condition, I am quite happy and thanks again.

Out of curiosity: what purpose will this typewriter serve?

It has been a really long time, but if my memory serves me I think they are used to type with.

Why not just write in a notebook? Why a typewriter? I haven't touched or even seen a typewriter in a really long time. But handwriting is something which many people still do daily.
