MANILA- The Senate on Tuesday passed on third and final reading a bill that would require motorcycles and scooters to have 2 large license plates for easy identification.

Senate Bill No. 1397 or the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act of 2017, authored by Sen. Richard Gordon and Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III, was approved with 21 affirmative votes, zero negative vote, and no abstention.

Ah, OK then......so I guess the Senate knows something we don't know; that perhaps the LTO is well equipped to handle the supply chain issues.

I think you may find it is (might be) for RADAR/LIDAR that takes a front view picture of you and your Car/Bike with 'reflective' Number Plate on display as well as for easy facial recognition (would be p*ss easy here without Helmets lol) to automatically post out the Speeding Fine along with an Infringement Notice to the 'Registered Owner'...

They are slowly gaining the technology here for 'Revenue Raising' and it won't be long before you see them hiding at the bottom of hills and behind trees etc like back in Australia or using the Multiple Number Plate recognition equipment to automatically ping Unregistered Cars/Bikes where you will receive a Notice in the Post... (Wait? Does Phils even have a Postal Service?) :o o:
Oh Boy! I can see the 'Keystone Cops' in action here! lol

Will mean more paperwork of course, as who is actually Registered here, meaning the Seller will receive the Fine (due to the address still being linked to them) then will need to prove who the Buyer is (if they haven't on-sold the Car/Bike) and nominate them in a Stat Dec like back in Oz, not always a successful process... :hurting:

"Where there's revenue to be made; the Government will be doing its darnedest to get a finger into that pie.

None of my bikes have a place to put a second plate. Am I supposed to wear the second plate on the front of my helmet?

No bikes have a place for a second plate.
They can't even supply new registration stickers here for bikes atm.
