That reminds me of a family business along the Alaska Highway in northern Canada. It was their home and their business but the business was secondary to enjoying their life. So they did put up a sign. When you entered, your read a sign that said:

This is NOT Burger King. We do it OUR way!

Here is a sign that is similar if any business owners want to copy that plan

I have been on that road I think. I was young and we drove from Anchorage, Alaska to Montana. I don't remember much about it. But from what I do remember, I bet you would just go ahead and take it their way and then get back on the road.

One minor nitpick. The Burger King slogan was "Have it your way." In "American" - "take it" invokes the possibility that you might get f***ed in some form.

Thank God that was cleared up. There's a huge difference between an aussy and a kiwi, you should have known, when the owner came down and said " Thus us giting out uf heend!" LOL.

Not everyone enjoys taking punishment as you do.

I remember watching you get body slammed in the pool once by your gf at that bar. It was always fun watching you and her get drunk and argue. It was only a matter of time before you talked back (or one of us said something to her behind you and then blamed it on you) and then it was WWE SmackDown time. We tried to bet on the brawls but couldn't as no one was willing to bet on you winning.

lol I have noticed there is quite a big difference between a Aussie and a Kiwi. Mainly: :kiwi:

I know the owners of the bar quite well and I'm more than familiar with how they both get when lots of alcohol is involved. I have no problem with them personally and usually get along with them quite well....but you have to know when it's time to make your exit before things start to get out of hand (this does not only apply to their bar). The friend of yours that got his @ss chewed out must not have had much experience with them if he approached to ask about a P70 pack of smokes after beer 10. I've learned to assess the situation from a distance prior to approaching.

They have a very, let's say "unique", way of managing a bar. You are going to either love it or absolutely hate it. They don't need the money at all and I see the bar as more of a side hobby for them. I don't think that your business is needed. (Note trying to sound like a prick there. Just stating an opinion.)

Ah, man, you are going to get me teary eyed and feeling nostalgic. She was a force and like the bar, you either loved her or you hated her. Those were fun times in Dumaguete. This place felt a lot different back then.

Not my freind, never seen him before. but unless i missed something he did nothing to provoke such hostility, he sinply asked if anyone saw a pack of smokes he left on the bar. the whole ordeal lasted only a minute or two before he was gone, but she was still screaming at her hubby 15 minutes later when i left.

I don't hate the job. I guess I'm just too awesome that my boss can't leave me alone. My bf provides but I rather challenge myself outside.
