I had similar speeds in Thailand, on an island sitting literally on the beach.

Just shows how backward this place is if a communist country can get those speeds.

Not sure of all my facts, but, I believe under arroyo there was a grand attempt to totally upgrade the Philippines internet via China whose ZTE company would have done the work, What a great project, bringing the Phils in line with its neighbors who were (are) so competitive in e_business. A major lift to our lifestyle, earnings and so on. Then came arroyo's husband who seemed to want to become a partner in the business, then accusations of corruption and the whole thing came crashing down. Most unfortunately there are no attempts to restart a new, similar national project, watching out for corruption at the top. Some countries consider a functional internet to be a national security issue,

Home. You can get up to 1 Gbps on fiber to the home these days with some providers in the US. I only pay for 100 Mbps. If you are getting 250 Mbps at home I concede my crown to you. I just wonder how hard it will be to adopt to the speeds in the Philippines.

Most time I'm not able to use the full bandwidth of my connection because the webservers on the world can not provide that speed or then is the backbone somewhere too slow. This bandwidth I have is good if several people are surfing on different websites at same time.
