When we built the house I went with a carport, which is OK but it is also a work area but during the late morning through afternoon the sun makes it miserable to try and do anything. I don't want to use block and enclose it so I was thinking of going with shrubs that we could maintain about 3' tall and around 2' deep and then go with bamboo latticework above. I think that would keep the sun down plus give the breezes a way to get through and would make for a nice feature to the house. My question is if anyone can recommend a place to get some shrubs, prefer a type that flowers but not a huge deal. I wasn't overly impressed with the folks we used for landscaping before and they were quite limited in stock (shocking I know). I also want one of those "fan" trees, no clue the real name but they are good looking and want to put one in the front yard to shade our son's room. I'm not looking for a landscaper, just a place to purchase the shrubs and hopefully about a 4 - 6' tall "fan" tree. Thanks, Shawn
There's a huge nursery on the main road north, about a km or two this side of Sibulan, on the left as you head out of town. It's not well advertised or signed, but it's there. Has a long bushy frontage.
I had Star Jasmine Shrubs growing between my house and the neighbour's back in Oz, lovely little shrub with many White flowers that worked great as a screen, but I found the scent to be so over powering some nights it gave me a headache! If they sell here maybe your wife will love them, just be warned how strong the scent is despite it being very pleasant in small doses. But they can be used in many ways and can be shaped to suit your application... Gardening Australia - Plant Profile: Trachelospermum
I thought this was funny too Brian, but we have a snowflake on board. First negative from over 2000 post. Wheres your humour?
If only I could find the short video clip of the girl from "Date Movie" a parody movie where she slips'm down and FOOMP! Instant Afro! As the old saying goes regards giving the Shrubs a bit of a trim! lol From memory I think this guy on Facebook has many Grafted varieties of Trees that he sends around the Philippines, if he has a Nursery, maybe you could contact him and see what he has and have them shipped to you via LBC or similar?
Why do you think it's sad, how many Irish jokes or other nationalists jokes are sad. Get a sense of Humour artpepper, life too short being grumpy.
Valencia is full of most anykind of ornametal plant you could think of that will grow here. the 'fan tree" is called banana palm.
I messaged this guy a while back about some of his stuff and there was a minimum order and quite expensive.
