Is it possible to send a letter to the US through PhilPost and it actually gets there? Is there a particular office that would do a better job with correct postage and sending it out? Heck I don't even know where to get an envelope here, only office I have been to is Valencia and I have never seen any supplies there.

While the letter is important (VA Saint Louis needs an original signature on a form, won't accept an email pdf even though secure messaging), it itself has no value so the only thing I lose if it disappears is time required to send again so I don't really want to plunk down a wad of cash to send via delivery company if I can avoid it.

Unfortunately I think PhilPost is your only real option, whilst not the US; I did send an A4 Envelope to Australia a few weeks back, PhilPost placed the Forms into an Envelope, then inside a plastic Satchel, I paid for it to arrive quicker which it did and amazingly it arrived in half the time it took for Australia Post to deliver the d*mn thing! They gave me a tracking Number which I could track all the way from Dumaguete to Manila, to Australia, to the recipient. For sending I have nothing bad to say about the service I received. It is receiving my Licence I am yet to report on so *fingers crossed* that experience will be as pleasant. Only stinger was the 1800+php Fee to send!

Thanks, was sounding great - until I got to the punch line at the end (p1,800+) was hoping not to pay that much just to send a stupid request form.

mail going to the US will always arrive at its destination in about 10 days in my excperience (p100). never a problem with philpost going OUT of the philippines. LBC will deliver documents in the US in about 5 days for P1400 or so. if there is not a LBC office in the US destination, it will be passed off and delivered by UPS.

For a 100 Pesos, send 2 to increase your odds of it getting there, depending on how much the delay will affect you. Send them on different days, too.

    National Bookstore in Robinson's.

LBC can send letters to the US. I used them to send my finger print cards to the FBI. Got there is less than 2 weeks. 2k+ pesos for their certified/express mail. It was more than just an envelope though.

I used PhilPost twice to send to the UK; both times the item arrived and was tracked and signed for. As others have said, 1800 a time!

Philpost works but is slower (I think with the faster express service you also get a tracking number, but not with the cheapest option which easily can take four weeks to Europe) , LBC gets you a tracking number and is generally faster (and more expensive) but refuses to deliver to PO Boxes. I also always get an envelope at the national book store.
