Or if you don't like someone then you try to discredit them when they call "fake news". Which reminds me, when did libel become "fake news" li·bel ˈlībəl/ noun 1. LAW a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation
To prove it is "fake" there must first be a trail.....something EJK cases tend to lack. I highly doubt any libel cases will be filed on the "fake" articles in question, even with the ridiculous defamation laws (making it a criminal offense) and "guilty until proven innocent" standard in the Philippine judicial system.
Nothing like a lier calling a lier a lier. Weather it is a government documentary or propaganda depends on who is being brain washed. In war, who is the enemy and who is the good guys depends on who looses.
"MANILA, Philippines — "It was “Trump effect in action,” a former United States diplomatic said of President Duterte’s claim that allegations of extrajudicial killings are fake news propagated by members of the opposition."" President Duterte did more to combat illegal drugs in 40 to 50 days than the USA has done in 40 to 50 years! The US declared war on drug during the Nixon Presidency and all they have accomplished was to jack up the price making it more profitable for the suppliers. IMOP, I think President Duterte’s war on drug has done far more good that it has done harm.
You don't think that the drug trade has stopped in the Philippines do you? The prices have gone up in the Philippines as well, making it more profitable for suppliers. Addicts don't just all of a sudden become non-addicts. They are still there and they are still doing drugs. And Duterte has ordered his war on drugs to stop. He has admitted defeat.
That's a huge price range. I question the P25k per gram number. Maybe out in the middle of nowhere. I suspect the price hasn't budged much in metro areas. Side note: "A drug cocktail composed of ecstasy, shabu, and cialist – known as “fly high”, “party”, or “superman” in the local party scene – costs between P1,500 ($31) and P3,500 ($72) a capsule." Are they f'n insane? Combining 3 drugs that mess with blood pressure/heart rate/blood flow/body temperature? Stupid and completely uninformed drug users! Darwin awards will definitely be issued out for those that take that combination.
So long as there are customers there will be drugs (and prostitutes and booze). These "sins" are up to the individual to stop. The government cannot just legalize these and look the other way for reasons that should be obvious, but they cannot solve the problem, just keep it reined in. For those who do not see it as I do, I should elaborate: Booze: If there are no government controls there are more drunk drivers on the road Prostitution: If there are no government controls then girls get abused and STDs proliferate Drugs: If there are no government controls then thefts for drug money increase and you get more drugged up drivers and other idiots getting in your face. Yes, its oversimplified for brevity but the bottom line is governments should regulate the use of drugs (middle ground) rather than making them legal or illegal. You can direct a herd of stampeding druggies but you can't stop them or let them run over the rest of the population.
I believe a drug's level of regulation should be determined by the amount of harm it causes to others. https://www.economist.com/blogs/dailychart/2010/11/drugs_cause_most_harm The most heavily regulated drug should be alcohol. Shabu actually causes much less harm to others than tobacco, marijuana and alcohol does (I'm assuming those are so high due to impairment while driving under the influence and, for tobacco, second hand smoke). I'm not sure how crack-cocaine scores so high on harm to others, I've never seen anyone under the influence of that nor do I know what the effects on the body/mind are.
