Negros Oriental gov dismissed for grave misconduct ABS-CBN News Posted at Dec 07 2017 11:46 AM MANILA - Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo has been ordered dismissed after being found guilty of grave misconduct for "anomalous" use of the province's 2013 budget, the Office of the Ombudsman said Thursday. Degamo is also perpetually disqualified from holding public office and his retirement benefits were also forfeited. Penalties of cancellation of eligibility and bar from taking the civil service examination were also meted on the local leader. Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales also ordered the filing of charges against Degamo for violation of Section 3(e) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (Republic Act No. 3019).
