Guarded subdivisions

Hello everyone! I am new in this town and try to find home for long stay. Please answer me where I can find guarded subdivisions with houses for rent? Or enumerate they, pls.

 

They will only run away if they are awake!!! Most spend a large part of their shifts sleeping. As stated by Wrye - they only serve to give a false sense of security. By way of an example: many moons ago I met a lass up in Manila who had worked for a while as an armed security guard. Being an ex-cop I was interested to learn what sort of firearms training was involved. She went on to inform me that she was only shown how to operate the weapon (an antiquated S@W 38 special) as bullets cost to much. So she'd never fired the thing at all. Very reassuring!!!

 

I was understand what your mean. What the place will be safe if the "guarded subdivisions" are not safe?

My English is not so good. I am speak russian. I was mean "enumerate: say as they (guarded subdivisions) are called".

If you are interested in living in Dauin there is a good place available there. I looked at it when I moved here and it looked good to me. The only problem is that Dauin is about a 30 minute ride on the highway from Dumaguete. I only mention it because you mentioned a guard and this place seems secure and has a few houses and apartments on the property. The family that runs it lives on the premises and seem to be very nice people. They are locals. If you want to check it out they have an add on this site. Available Furnished Beach Apartment--Dauin !

 

i just had a fair amount of undercarriage work done on my ailing multicab by a small shop in dauin only a few blocks from this rental and he leaves his tools scattered about 24/7. no house, no gate, no fence, no dog, no light, no security what so ever...

 

I’m looking at pulling up stumps here in Panglao, & I’ll be headed over Dumaguete way.
It’s a must for me to be in a gated secure compound.
I understand that the guards themselves, are mostly useless....but for the “would be”crims....if they know there’s a guard on duty....they’ll try another place.
It’s also a big plus when the owner & his family are in the same complex too.

 

I had such an experience. At a resort where I was staying long-term, I complained, to the male management partner, who was by the way a policeman, that the security guard was a peeping tom. Combined with a previous complaint from another resident, this caused the manager to fire the guard company. The very next night, the female partner's jewelry box was robbed. They knew who the perpetrator was, and quickly captured him. (In the neighborhoods, they usually know.) And he was not connected to the guard company. I suppose he was watching, and observed the absence of a guard.
