Traveling from Dumaguete to Bayawan via Tanjay/Pamplona road route; is the road condition decent for motorbike? Looking at a map, seems like a shorter way vs. National highway. Anybody travel it recently?
I thought it was shorter in distance? Not sure on travel time, might depend on where you are starting from and what kind of traffic you run across.
Google seems to think it is the shortest and fastest route. Looking at the map it seems obvious why. Edit: Fixed map.
it could well be a shorter travel time,. I wasn;t trying to make time, i was out for a pleasure trip.
When i go to bayawan on the bike from bacong its 1,50 mins approx. When i did the mountain road to bayawan had to drive to tanjay then over the mountain and up to bayawan so was over 2 hrs. I like the mountain road far better but not bot going through duma to get to the other side.
Just drove the Tanjay - Pamploma - Sta. Catalina rd. to get to Bayawan from Dumaguete. It's 1 hour faster than the National Highway route. But, I live on the north end of Duma near the airport. The road is in good condition. There is some shoulder of the road construction in some spots; they're building a few concrete mudslide barriers. Nice ride.
