I am Jamjam *Full name removed by admin*,I am 15 years old.Since I was in elementary I want to join taekwondo but I couldn't find it here in our place .Hope there was a trainer that willing to teach me or to let me join to their taekwondo class.

Do you wish to learn from a filipina?

I know that @OzeMike is with a filipina who has studied TaeKwonDo and may be willing to work with you. If you were interested then it would be up to admin to suggest a way to make introduction.

 

You may be putting this child in great danger. Her parents should be doing the arranging.

 

Having known OzeMike for 10 years, in person, not as a keyboard commando, and having met his lady, who has illustrated her TaeKwonDo techniques, I fail to see the great danger I may be putting this child in. I agree her parents should be doing the arranging, and yet they seem to have no way or means to arrange it.

Perhaps it is best left alone but it is in my nature to try to help and if the "child" did not want help she would not have asked.

 

I found one I found on FB called DUMAA Eskrima NORSU Chapter. Her parent/guardian may be able to contact them to see if she could join their chapter.

 

I had a word with OzeMike about it and he will chat with his lady and we shall see where it goes. Thanks for the help.

 

Although Eskrima is a Martial Art of the Philippines it is vastly different from the Taekwondo that the young girl is seeking, Taekwondo (Korean) is very similar to Karate (Japanese).

 

Hello there, Jamjam, it's nice to see you here! You look like a cute little girl who should by now be in 3rd year high school...

Nowadays, learning useful self defense steps do seem more interesting than boring dance steps indeed. And you do have the right to full opportunities for safe and wholesome recreation and activities, individual as well as social, for the wholesome use of your leisure hours.

Yet since you are below 18 years old and still a child for all legal intents and purposes in the eyes of the community, you still have the responsibility by law to seek, respect, and obey your parent's guidance at the same time that your parents have the duty by law to supervise your activities, including your recreation. This is because, since 1974, we Filipinos already have laws to follow as children and parents alike, in The Child and Youth Welfare Code (Presidential Decree No. 603 | Philippine Commission on Women).

Now we do not want you, your parents, or any other person to get in trouble with the law, do we? After all, penalty fines can be very expensive and those stinky prisons can be very crowded.

Have you talked to your parents about your interest? If not yet, why not ask them first about how to pursue your interest in Taekwondo. Pray about it, too!
