Anyone know where to find fresh cilantro and lemon juice or lemon juice concentrate for cooking? Rather not squeeze 100 lemons and not looking for the lemon juice drink stuff.

Also looking for a cleaner regular meat shop for chicken, pork, and beef. Not talking the imported stuff such as Montery Meat Shop but hoping to find a half decent meat shop that preferably is a little clean and doesn't have every customer breathing all over the meats like at Lee Plaza and Robinsons.

Fresh cilantro/coriander can often be found at both Robinson's and lee plaza/hypermart. They call it Wansoy.

By all means let us know if you find lemon and/or extract.

I tend to usually have to get my lemon juice in CEBU but not in the mood for a trip just for that nonsense. I'd kill for an SM City with a SM supermarket. But of course that would spell doom on Robinsons Dumaguete which is a sh*thole at best. Hence why Robinsons blocked SM's plans a couple years back.

Cilantro readily available at Robinsons and Hypermart (wansoy). Haven't found lemon juice here...get mine in Cebu, too.

We were in Robinson's at 8 pm tonight, coriander (wansoy) was in stock as of this time.

FYI, cilantro is the leaves from the coriander plant. In latin/mexican foods, only the leaves are generally used and are referred to as "cilantro". In asian cooking, the entire plant is used, roots, stems, and all. The plant is commonly referred to in asia as "Coriander". In this part of the Philippines this plant is called "wansoy".

"Thai coriander", AKA "sawtooth coriander" is a different plant, with almost the exact same aroma and flavor (but stronger). It resembles visually closer to an aloe vera plant, and grows very well here. I have also seen it for sale in Robinson's sold as "cilantro" and "coriander".

I realize this is an old thread but wanted to say... Wow, thanks everyone for the great information. I've so missed cilantro since moving here. I will be on the lookout for "wansoy" on my next outing.

You can find lemon concentrate in the deli section of the Y Not. Comes in the same little yellow lemon shaped squeeze bottle that you knew in the US.

Remember though. If you are trying to prepare a Thai dish. Thai's do not use lemons as a rule. They use limes. Lemons don't grow very well in Thailand, but limes grow just about anywhere. The word for Lemon in Thai is "Mana~ow". It is the same word for Lime.

I got a cilantro plant to add to my herb garden. You can get one in Valencia or at the Daro Market near Sidlakan Negros.

As for your lemon concentrate, I got a bottle from Lee Plaza a month ago. Check their Supermarkets.
